To transfer music files from a music CD to a USB drive (Kigston datatraveller), kindly use the below steps:

1) Insert the CD in the CD drive of your computer and insert the Kingston drive into the USB port of the computer.

2) Then double click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop.

3) Now in "My Computer" window, right-click on the icon for the CD drive and select "Explore"

4) You will now be able to see the individual files on the CD.

5) Right-click on the music file which you want to transfer to your Kingston drive and select "Send to" and then select "Kingston...".

(See attached image--In this case it is shown as Transcend)

Thank you. That went as you described.

What I'm trying to do is store music on this kingston datatraveler 101 8gb so that I can play it on my computer or some other mobile device - which I don't yet have.

If this is doable I haven't been able to do it.

    Can you help me again?

    And thanks again,

    Many thanks for the feedback.

By using the same steps, you can store/save music files on your data traveler.

To check whether the files are stored on your data traveler, insert the data traveler in your computer USB port, then double-click on My Computer icon on the Desktop.

Then in My Computer window, double click on the Kingston Data traveler icon to view the list of stored files.  (In some cases, like copyrighted CD's, copying the music files is disabled and so one cannot copy the files to another media)

    Thanks once again.

How do i download music to a 2GB Kingston Datatraveler

Such kind of flash disks or external pen drives, shown as a new disk when you attached it to computer.

Please plug-in your kingston to usb port of your computer.
Open an file explorer (or double click on to the "my computer" icon).

You can see the drives currently attached to your system. If there is a floppy drive it named with the letter A.

Your hard disk(s) identified by the letters starting with C and CD/DVD rom D.

Your kinkston also shown with the next letter just after the HDD and CD/DVD under normal conditions.

Please click onto the letter that identifies your kingston and see the content at the right pane.

You can then copy your music files and paste into the kingston .Like normal file operations.
