Rather than just replace the power supply ( both sustain boards may also be involved. Your cgheapest option is to have it professionally diagnosed and repaired propely the first time. Your own repair carries no warranty. You may change a power supply and find that it woks for 10 minutes and you are back at square 1.

When we push the power button on the remote or on the tv the green light comes on for one second and then shuts off ... tv won't turn on

you have a short circuit in the power supply.
1) test the power cord very well
2) test the main swithc for short or open
3)test the power supply, look for a short in transformer+coil+filter+diode+rectifier. and replace
4)test the HVRECT+fLYBACK+ horizontal output for +125Vdc +vertical output for +80Vdc ALL this go to the CRT
color +12vdc+other circuit +12vdc. The first thing do you will have is RASTER, see the block. d
God bless you

LG50PX5d - I turn it on, it stays on for a second and then the green light turns to red and starts blinking. TV turns off. Will only coem back on after I have unplugged the TV a few times and turned it...

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will help in solving the problem.......

Television keeps shuttting off and on green light appears

I have a Sony Grand Wega 55 HDTV, Its 6 years old. Problem is as follows: I press the power button and the TV warms up and goes on for about 30 seconds than shuts off to a no power screen , with the power light flashing green. Than after about 60 seconds the TV comes back on for about another 30 sec and shuts off again. The longer i leave the TV on the longer it stays off when it starts blinking the green light. Can anyone tell me if its the sensor or something else? Is the part I need attainable with the ability to replace it myself.
Look forward to your replies.

Have TV AOC L32W761 When i turn it on light turns green but screen is black.... After that no reaction on pressing any buttons... Even turn off... Light stays green...

This sounds like a problem with the power supply. Usually capacitors on the power supply board tend to dome, bulge or dry up. The damaged ones can be seen on the power supply circuit board when the back is removed. The dry ones have to be removed and tested. The caps can be replaced at a repair shop for around $200, but if the power supply board has to be replaced it can cost a little more. It all depends on the shops repair fees.

TV turns itself off

The solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to jah2mil@hotmail.com
