My Shimano 9spd Dura Ace STI lever (right side - rear changer) no longer works. The internal mechanism seems to have worn / broken. Do you know if I can get it repaired, and where (in UK)? (I know it is...

Find a Local Bike Shop on your own. You know where you live and UK is not very specific.

Or do some more diagnosis/research.

Web search "shimano sti shifter repair" (or most other simplified questions) for resources.

My gears on my mountain bike dont work and i want to know how to fix them

If you work back from the gear shifter on the handlebars, follow the cable back to the derailleur and check the tension of the cable as it meets the deralier. It could have come loose from the clamp therefore not shifting the gears. Their are also fine tuning points to tension the cable in various positions, or to slightly move the derailleur to line it up with the gears.

Good luck, hope I was of some assistance

Need advice for Shimano ST-7900 nameplate replacement

Don't know if you have an exploded view diagram of the levers . If not you can download from http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp

In the road bike drop down list select Dura-Ace, go down to ST-7900 and select document EV-ST-7900-2874. I don't advise you to take mech apart unless you have special tools and bags of experience handling complex mechs. However you will see that name plates are held by single screw which should be no problem.

log onto Shimano.com, it is probably the limit screws (the two screws that limit travel) or you have a faulty ratchet in the lever, try the shimano website anyway they have great tutorial and manual support
