Question about Nintendo 64 Console

1 Answer

My N64 tries to turn on, there's a flash indicating that it's on, but it's almost like it turns back off, because no matter how many times I try, I can't get it to work.

Some times this issue is when Mem cart had went bad on system will not load. system or cart. Try replacing the cart if you have an expansion cart try using the original.

Other times just power light no function after motherboard died

I want to corrupt some n64 roms. How do i get them to actually run?

The start byte should be above roughly 102000 no matter what N64 game you're corrupting, anything below will cause a permanent loop error because you're corrupting crucial data in the ROM.

I dont know how to set it up

- First you need a rather old TV, like maybe before 2002, if you have one. Because on newer TVs N64 graphics are terrible !

- Once you have your TV, check to see if you have two cables with your 64 (if you don't something is missing !). One shaped like a little box on one end and an electrical plug on the other : you hook up the little box to your N64 and plug the device in the nearest power socket. The other cable has a a strange black and rectangular input that hook up in your N64 and 3 sockets that are red, yellow and white. Connect the latter on your TV by finding the same sockets with the same colours !

- Connect your controller to the console (it's the round-ish sockets in front of it)

- insert your game

- THEN turn on your console. Don't turn it on unless everything hooked up !

(if it doesn't work you may want to try the famous turn-off-the-console-blow-into-the-cartridge-put-it-back-and-try-turning-your-N64-again trick !)

Good luck ! :)

I have a Panasonic th50pz80u and a rather unique problem. Very often, if I turn the tv off the red power LED light flashes continually. If it is flashing then I can't turn the set back on. I have to unplug...

Hi,

This Unique problem is Quite Common with Most Brands. Have you tried to Turn it OFF using Remote?

If not Try it.

If yes, and the problem still persists, you will have to contact manufacturer for software updates for the TV or a main board in witch the problem is happening from. if they don't have software upgrades for the unit you will have to get a new main board.

Usually 10 Blinks on This Model is a Real Bad News - The 10 blink code is indicating the A board has failed and will need to be replaced, unfortunately you will need to wait on that repairman to complete this for you. I can however give you a good idea of what it will cost so he doesn't try to pull any wool over your eyes. I have looked up this part and would say the cost should be somewhere below $650+tax according to my resources.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The N64 light won't run on.

The N64 is pretty forgiving... try this. Plug the AC adapter in and the system leave in and turn OFF for 1 hour.. if the AC Adapter doesn't get warm then u name have a bad AC adapter... replace it and hope for the best!!

N64 Blinking on and off

It seems like an issue with the cartridge slot (as in there's a bad connection somewhere, causing the connection with the cart to be lost, then restored, then lost... etc). Try giving it a good blast with a can of compressed air or possibly go over it with a Q-tip soaked in glass cleaner or 50% isopropyl alcohol.

It may also be an issue with the power cable. I have a similar problem with my Genesis resetting and turning off. It turned out to be caused by a faulty, loose, power cable. Try finding another power cable for your N64 and see if it makes adifference.

1991 jaguar xj6 RADIO couldn't turn ON! The radio can't turn its power on by the switch, the security indicator keeps flashing all the time no matter the switch is "ON" or "OFF". the fuses are good and the relays that I COULD find (in the trunk for the antenna) are good as well. I have power GOING to the radio from all indications but it doesn't come on or flash CODE for me to enter, which I do have. Is there something I'm missing or is the radio just shot? Also I found no fuse on the radio it's self. Is there some SIMPLE fix out there? Or should I START SHOPPING?
Thanks.
