Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook

My Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop has problems with the keyboard. The cursor jumps from where I am composing a letter or email to different areas and sometimes back to the subject line. Is this something that can be fixed.

If your hands are really warm they don't even need to touch the touchpad in order to move the cursor. You can go into "device manager" and disable the touchpad and just use a wireless mouse instead.

Hi! I think youre probably having a jumping cursor where the cursor jumps from one place to another while typing an email or something. You may got to control panel - hardware - mouse then look for the check box that you can tick on that says "Tap off while typing" and this should fix the problem. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com!

I have a dell 1525 laptop. It works fine except feor one problem. While I type, the cursor jumps all over the place and puts letters all over my document. It did this with both Vista & now XP. It does...

This is not a virus issue since you had already tried two version of windows.

First you can try to update the BIOS on your laptop by downloading the BIOS update from http://support.dell.com

Select the support for home users.

Drivers and downloads.

Enter the service tag of your laptop. ( even laptops w/o warranties can download updates)

Just download the BIOS update via browser only ( do not select download via download manager)

Just run or install the downloaded update (make sure ac adapter is plug-in and battery is at least 10% charge)

After the update check if still getting same problem. If yes then have you keyboard and palmrest replace.

Hello !!

I have seen this problem many times and the most common reason is Spyware or Malware.

So, download, update and run from these sites: http://www.spybot.com and http://www.malwarebytes.com. With Malwarebytes, be certin to choose the free software.
