Hello Janine Gooch,

Went out on our internet trying to find your trouble shooting guide (typically in the OWNERS MANUAL)...

Finally ended up in AU ... No luck.
(September 9th is only 6 hours old here (SF Bay area)).

Your local peers have NOTHING NICE to say about that machine... particularly the CONTROL BOARD:

Washing machine a whirlpool 6th sense front loader and it spins super fast and out of control. Cheers

Check the clutch and braking system. You will almost certainly need a part breakdown but the unit is not meant to spin without restriction. There may also be a q&a from manufacturer that will tell you exactly which parts to replace.

Admiral Washer makes loud steady noise during spin cycle but washes clothes & completes cycle. Possible bearing problem?

If a front loader type, try lifting up on the drum. If it clunks and seems to move somewhat easily, it is probably the front bearing on drum rear support shaft--a major tear-down to replace. If a top loader, try tipping the basket (that spins) in several directions--if it makes clunking sounds, try removing the agitator and check the tub mounting bolts at the bottom center for tightness. If ok, tip the tub again and watch for movement. It may have a bad bearing below the tub at the center area. Remove the tub bolts and pull the tub out revealing the drive hub underneath. Don't know if you would have to drop the transmission to repair what you find. Good luck!

hi,
looks like there is some friction between the main and outer tub of your machine. there is generally a mechanism for smooth spinning of the machine in good rpms for wash-spin cycle. this could be because of rust formation, or mud collection. please refer your manual and remove the 3 screws behind the lower front plastic cover, and look for rust formation. scrape the rust and try spinning again.

cheers

F51 comes out and the machine stops working. what can i do

The F51 error code indicates that the control is not sensing proper motor movement through the signals from the RPS (rotor position sensor) circuit. This can be caused by several different problems. Make sure that you are not overloading the washer. Overloading can cause this problem. A toy or foreign object could be under the washer that is interfering with motor rotation. With the washer empty, spin the basket inside the washer tub to see if it spins relatively easily. If not, you could an item caught between the spin basket and the tub. You could have a wire harness problem causing signals to not be transmitted properly between the RPS and the machine control board. A failed RPS sensor or a failed control board could also cause this problem.

I have a whilpool 6th sense washing machine

sounds like there is either a short in the door latch, or, there is an electrical error in the wash machines, processor and will need to be looked at by tech. Do you have any other codes besides "door open"?
