If the front panel has the menu feature, you can do it by pressing it and use the Volume/Channel buttons to navigate through the OSC screen until you get to close caption to turn it OFF.

Try the on board menu on the tv to see if you can gain access, if not the original remote will be required. One possible solution is to go to a tv repair shop to see if they might have one. They usually keep a box of used remotes.
