Can you set your thermostat to on instead of auto on the fan? If this fixes it it would be a loose connection at the themostat or broken wire. (broken wires are very common and they will make and break connection they break because the copper wire is small and it gets scored when stripped) I do not see a way the outside unit could cause your problem. If it was any circuit board it would be the one in the furnace.

My lg split system model is LMS304V-4. the fan inside turns on for 3 minutes then turns off but the compressor does not cut in at all. the green light on the left of the panel inside blinks 5 times stops...

I could not find the model number listed in your inquiry, but a lot of LG minispits use the 5 blinking light for indication of poor communication between inside and outside units. Try this before replacing control boards. Power down the outside unit. Remove the cover for the control wiring and loosen and retighten the 4 wire going into the inside unit. Then go in and remove the shroud cover for the inside unit and find the other end of the control wires and loosen and retighten them. Sometimes over time corrosion builds up and causes loss of signal and the lack of proper signal during communication is similar to someone talking to you while you are listening to loud music while wearing a headset. You cannot hear what is being said because to much noise. Remove the cover on the outside unit and see if it has a white reset button. If it does have a reset button after you have performed steps above, try restoring power and pressing the reset button. If it does not have a reset button, it should automatically reset when power is turned back on. If these steps do not help you will probably have to replace the control board on the condensing unit.
Hope this helps.

F6 error code on Frigidaire split unit ac, model FSC12CM6J/FSE12CM6J. Solution says to check fuse? Where is this located?

It seems like the indoor fan is not running. Quite a few split systems have a fuse on the indoor board. It will require stripping off the outer cover of the indoor unit and removal of the electronic box cover. The indoor board is in there. The fuse may be replaceable or it may be a type that is soldered on which makes it virtually non replaceable. ( A new indoor board will be required) Make sure all power is turned off or disconnected before you do anything. Another possibility is the fan motor start capacitor has failed. Try this first before stripping the unit. When the unit is turned on and the outdoor unit has started, give the indoor fan barrel a flick with your finger to start it spinning, if it keeps spinning and the error doesn't appear, it would indicate that the fan motor start capacitor has failed. The capacitors on indoor units are normally small black square boxes with 2 terminals on it. These capacitors are mounted inside or close to where the indoor electronic box is. Again, make sure all power is disconnected or turned off at the meter box before you do any disassembly.

Sometimes the fan inside comes on but outside unit isn't running

Does your furnace have an adjustable fan limit switch it has to be adjusted. If it has a timer check if it can be adjusted.

Hi, I ahve a Rheem Classic Plus Series SUper Quiet 80 Unit and no air is blowing thru the vents but the inside/outside units kick on? can you help?

Is the inside fan running? If it is then check your air filter. If it isn't, turn off power to the inside unit and see if the fan turns freely by hand. Next check the capacitor for the indoor fan. Does the fan on this unit connect to a circuit board? Set the thermostat to make the air come on and check for power where the fast speed wire connects to the circuit board and neutral. If it's not there, the circuit board is probably bad. You can look at the back side of the board to see if any traces are burnt off. Let me know what you find.

Installed 4 brand new units, I have 233 volts going into the inside unit, nothing on the outside. Units will not even power on, no beeps, no fan, no nothing

Is there a disconnect next to the outside unit (required by code here in the lower 48). If so check to see if you have voltage to it, check the breaker going to the outside unit. Check on the inside unit circuit board for a blown fuse.

Procedure to replace motor in split system wall unit

indoor unit or outdoor unit i think ur talking about the indoor unit it is a real pain they dont make those technician friendly but make sure u order one from the factory cause its an oddball but if ur going to attempt it then take the front cover off there will be phillips screws on bottom sometimes they have lil pieces over them to cover them up when u have the cover off on the right side u have 3 circuit boards 2 have to be removed and make sure u label where they go and at this time u should be able to see the motor but even when u get to it its still a pain to get in and out there is a set screw holding the squirrell cage to the shaft and ull have to get to the screw thru the fan blades and once u get the set screws out u just have to wiggle and jiggle til it comes out now some models dont have set screws so jus look it might not have any and to put it back in jus go in reverse make sure u cut power to unit before u start touching any of the internal parts ( circuit boards etc...) hope this helps good luck

Pipes frozen on outside of unit, inside unit does not work

sounds like the compressor relay is stuck in the 'on' position .... hence the compressor will not turn off .... to fix it you will need to turn off the main power (unplug) and take off the front panel then look at the circuit board normally the largest relay on the board is the compressor relay ... sometimes you can snap off the cover or break it off at times and clean the contacts ,give it a little spray with some contact cleaner or lub like wd 40 and that should be it .... alternative to this is just changing the circuit board all together ....
