Not sure if you are talking about the Power button or the start button on Windows. If you are talking about the Power button then there is a setting in Power options that are settable by the user to perform a certain task when buttons are pushed. I would start there. If you are talking about the start button and select Turn Off computer then there is probably a service or back ground application that is not stopping thereby extending the power down sequence, but when this happens you usually get a window that states that some application is closing and you can either wait for it to end itself or force it to end. If that is the case, note which application is hanging up and if it is not one you need uninstall it. Hope this helps.
