Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I have an old Conon BJC 2000. I like this printer, but I just got a new computer and I need to find ON LINE, the drivers to instal it. The CD never worked, and I have always had to go on line to set it up. My new computer is a Dell with XP on it. The printer should work, since it worked on my old computer with XP. Please give me a URL to set up this printer. Thands, Nick N.

Your driver can be downloaded here, directly from Canon:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=230&modelid=7956#DownloadDetailAct

Choose your operating system from the "select OS" drop-down window.

Be sure to UNPLUG the printer from the PC before installing the software. ONLY plug it in once the on-screen instructions tell you to do so.

EVERYTIME I TRY TO RUN CD TO CANON BJC-2000,ITS KEEP SAYING ERROR

The BJC-2000 is an older printer. If you are trying to run the original CD, it's probably not compatible with your (newer) operating system. Go here to get the most current driver. If you have Windows Vista, use the driver that is already in Windows. (Click Add Printer, select Canon, then look for the BJC-2000)

Go to this link. Select Windows XP in the Select OS box. Download the driver and follow instructions to install the driver. Do not connect or turn on the printer until the installation program tells you to do so.

sure...you may need to add the printer, again, after removing it. Also, did the new dell Vista disk for drivers and utilities come with? I'd advise going to Canon's page, and getting a more recent driver. The old disk from Dell or Canon, MAY NOT have the most recent driver set. Also, if you're using the print manager, that's a new download, for certain.

Vista driver for this machine comes stnadard with vista but will not work when old xp drivers are present (or were when upgraded to vista) , remove old driver from system, connect printer,  vista should auto reconise and install.

Here is a canon link explaining Vista with BJC 85

Printer problem

here is the link for the driver download for the i250 for xp (hope you didn't mean you threw the printer itself away) http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0023758.asp?model= Here is the link for the bjc 80 scanning driver for xp; http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0018984_0000424.asp?model= but unfortunately canon does not seem to have a driver for printing in xp for the bjc80, it doesn't seem to be compatible - contact canon and they might have plans to release an xp driver this link has dos drivers for the bcj80; http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 Hope this helps - other option would be to go back to windows me/2000 or get an xp capable printer - if you get a new one make sure it can deal with windows vista as well in case you upgrade in the future :)
