To my mid you should send it back, this is NOT acceptable, at all. Return it, and make them, make sure that it is all OK.
It sounds to me like there is still a "Fault" with your unit, possibly to do with that "Update"? This is NOT acceptable, at all. You should have had it returned a 100% working in ALL ways when you got it back. The HDMI should "Just Work" plain and simple.
Return it, I know it's a pain, but do this with instructions that they repair it 100% and TEST it before sending it back to you. Also refuse to pay anything further also demand that they pay for the 2nd shipping costs, if any?

To double check it is indeed the SR6004, make sure that you can drive the projector with another HDMI source first, as maybe it's the projector's HDMI...?

Panasonic PT-AE2000U All three HDMI Ports stoped working. I have tried different HDMI cable and a three different HDMI Feeds. I can get a picture using the red green blue component cable. Any ideas?

WOW. I just experienced the same thing. None of my HDMI ports are working, though component is fine. I've had my unit since November 2007 and had no problems until this. I think the HDMI board has gone bad and will require replacing.

No sound

The Philips DVP5982 has an odd menu setup for the HDMI sound.
If you get sound from the analog outputs from the unit, but no sound when you use the HDMI output, use this procedure to see if you can restore it:

On the remote control, press Setup.
- Right cursor to the Audio Setup Page
- Go down to Digital Audio Setup
-Right cursor, to get to the screen that shows

Digital Output
LPCM Output
HDMI Audio Setup

Try to go up to the Digital Output setting- if you can't , and instead it shows only HDMI Audio Setup with the "On" highlighted in blue, this is the quirk:

Go into the HDMI Audio Setup, and select "Off", and press Enter, so it's highlighted in blue.

Now it should let you go into the Digital Output menu selection, where you may find it to be on the "Off" setting.

Select "All", and then you can go back to the HDMI Audio Setup and set it to On again, and it should now output sound from the HDMI again.

For some reason, they decided to lock out the Digital Output settings menu when the HDMI Audio is On- go figure.

So you need to turn off the HDMI sound before you turn the sound on.. ;)

Playstation 3

I assume that the Marantz has an Optical lead input. If so you should connect an digital optical lead directly between the PS3 and the Marantz receiver for the sound while keeping the HDMI lead to the projector for the picture. You will need to configure the PS3 to be outputting the sound to the optical output (done through the settings menu).

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.

Problems using HDMI

I've had a problem with the HDMI connector, had it replaced twice while my VPL-HS60 was under warranty. This connector seems very fragile, the first time I was not getting any signal from HDMI, so the repair shop ordered a new connector and replaced it, a couple of days after the it was not working again and found that they had to solder it back on the board. If you're not getting a signal from HDMI anymore that could be your problem.
