What type of file are you opening? Try right clicking the file you want to open then go to properties and then tell us what file type it is.

How can fix microsoft visual c++ runtime library

Hello,

Which program is it?

Hello,
This is what I did.
1. Turn On PC as normal
2. Wait for prompt error to show up
3. When it appears, Run Task Manager (here you can see the task running the Error Prompt)
4. Right Click on the task and Choose > Go To Process (will take you to processes Tab)
5. See the highlighted Process, Right Click and Choose Open File Location
6. Windows Explorer will appear and you can see the Application Folder (name of application)
In my case, a 'browser toolbar application' was trying to auto initiate itself
7. Open Uninstall Programs > Search for Application Name > Uninstall (NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT UINSTALL IF THE PROGRAM IS A CORE FILE like Windows related program)..
8. Restart PC.....its gone :)

Another alternative:

Do a system restore. Click start > program > accessories > system tools > system restore.

Restore it to a known good date when your computer was fine.

I hope this helps.

I am having problem with one of my application in my pc. When I open it it says "browse for the application"

It sounds like you have a dead shortcut. Try using the original cd to repair the program. If you are running Windows Vista or 7, then try searching for the application using the search bar in the start menu to open it.

Get fliptoast off my computer

If you are trying to uninstall the application Fliptoast used with/for Facebook then depending on what version of windows you're using (assuming you're using windows) go to: Start, Control Panel, Programs and select uninstall a program. Then find Fliptoast in the list and uninstall it from there.
If this does not remove it you can try a program call CCleaner and you can download it from here.
Once you have this program installed open it and go to Tools and Uninstall. Find Fliptoast in the list of applications, select it then choose Run Uninstaller.

If i try to download something, like a video,it says connect media to save destination

You do not have a default program for your video viewing or that particular video requires a specific program to be used. Ensure that your computer has a video player such as Windows Media Player if you are using a Windows OS or that you have Quick Time if you are using a Mac OS. If these programs are already installed, then you may want to ensure that they are set to be the default program for that particular video.
Download the video, then right click the video and click the option that says "Properties". When the box appears, click open with and select either Quick Time or Windows Media Player. To avoid doing this for every video, follow the instructions below:
WINDOWS OPERATION SYSTEM
  • Open Windows Explorer by right-clicking the Start button, and then click Explore.
  • Click a folder that contains a file of the type that you want Windows to open in a program that you select.
  • Right-click the file and, depending on the programs installed on your computer, complete one of the following steps:
    • Click Open With to choose the program that you want.
    • Point to Open With, and then click Choose Program to choose the program that you want.
  • The Open With dialog box is displayed. Use one of the following methods to select the program that you want to use for this file type:
    • In the Programs list, click the program that you want to use.
    • Click Browse, locate and then click the program that you want to use, and then click Open.
    • Click Look for the appropriate program on the Web to browse the Internet for the program that you want to use.
  • Click to select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box if it is not selected.
  • Click OK.

My problem! is when i want to open a file my pc

this is happening when the file association with the program is not made...either the program for that file to be open with is not present...or the file was transferred into the computer and you never had this kinda files before and first time you have to choose a program to open the file with...
in this 2 cases you have to know the type (format ) of the file and browse...choose my computer ..than C drive .../program file...and there choose the suitable program for the file...
and from then on ...the files of that kind will be opened with that program...
if you do not know what program to choose...let me know the file type...(look at the properties by right click on the file and choose properties..there will be at least the abbreviation of the file type..)
and with the name of the file format ..I will look for a program or ..tell you what program to choose for it ..
Another thing that might been happening .(in case that the computer makes this request for all files when yo are trying to open them ) ..is that you been hit by a virus that affected the file association feature ...and you will probably need to reinstall the operation system to be sure that this is removed for good..(format the C partition during the install)....
Or ...if your computer remember the program just as long it is running and after restart is doing the same ...in this case the Bios Battery is dead or not making the correct contact ...and the computer do not remember the associations choices and it need to be changed....this can be easy recognized cause a side effect is the clock will not be on time...but get to the bios manufacturing date..and 0 hour each time you open it ..in this case change the bios battery ..and it will remember the settings...all you have to do is to re-associate the file one more time after changing it .. accurate ..

When i try to explore its asking to choose the application from a list

I do not know what you mean by EXPLORE, but anytime XP asks to choose an application, is because the file you clicked on does not have a program installed to run it, or you have not defined a preferred program to run it. For example, if you click on a file that has an MP3 extension, and you happen to have WMP, Winamp an Itunes, XP will ask how to run the music file, unless you have stated previously your preferred choice.

    I canit open files

Change the file associations in Windows. Right click a file you wish to open and then select the OPEN WITH option and then select CHOOSE PROGRAM. If the application you wish to use is NOT in the PROGRAMS list, use the BROWSE option to locate the one you want. Check the ALWAYS USE THE SELECTED PROGRAM TO OPEN THIS KIND OF FILE option and then click OK You can do this for any other file types that are wrongly associated. It may be worthwhile finding out what caused your file associations to get messed up in the first place. You may have a virus.
