Question about Teac AG-D8900 Receiver

Open Question

My teac ag-v7700 stereo reciever has a problem when I first power it up, the volume is normal for about 1/2 second then I hear a relay switch click inside the reciever, difrent from the 'soft switch' power up sound, and the volume is audible but very low...does the same for aux, or cd. I can power it on, and off, several times, and it does the same thing. I know a little about repairs, but this is my friends stereo, and did not feel comfortable going further. thank you gary

SOURCE: Teac AG V7700 Receiver problem powering up

I have a Teac ag-7700 and when I would try to power it on it would shut off. I did get it to turn on for about 10 minutes and then it shut off. Now when I try to power it on the light on volume dial stays lit but the LED does not light up and no sound through speakers.

Teac AG-V7700 keeps bowing fuses

I hate to say it but it sounds like one of the audio chips that drives the speakers shorted out! The high powered outputs (more than 7 watts) need both speaker wires to be ungrounded. You will need to find someone to replace the defective chip or else get a new unit.

Teac AG-V3050. Everything looks right but puts out no sound to speakers. Have trien many speakers. Is there a fuse, reset, etc? Thanks

I nce had the relay for the amplifier die on one of my receiver. Basically this will allow the amp to power on and supply voltage to the speakers. Same thing though, i could access all of the menus, adjust setting, and volume but no sound because the amp never clicked on.

My AG-V3050 pro-logic receiver seems to have a volume control issue. The test mode volume works fine but when I switch it to fm the sound is very weak, I have to crank it all the way up to get a little...

Hi
Two dump question and than recommendation..
  • First ;During listening FM ,Your " MUTE" switch is "ON" or "OFF" ? if not how about plain STEREO mode ? did you try it ?
  • Second..how about the other Modes , i.e ..CD ,DVD etc. ? same problem or it happens only in FM ?
ok..now the possible solution;
sometimes FM stations do not properly triggers pro-logic circuit and cause such problem and you need to switch to STEREO or A.F.D mode to listen FM (AFM includes sub woofer)..
This is true for FM only and it should not happen in other modes as DVD ,CD,Phone etc..
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please
