Kind of a vague problem... Many times on BIOS startup you will get an internal beep, but should not affect your computer from booting normally. When you say it sometimes doesn't start normally, what do you mean by that?

That's an error code.you can find out what number of beeps for your machine mean through google, usually three or four means ram memory chips are playing up.sometimes cured by reseating them.if there is more than one take them all out and the put them back one at a time .you may find the faulty one that way. cmos battery exhausted will give continous beeps.

My Dell Inspiron 530 won't start. 4 Beeps, Soild blue light.

According to Dell this is a RAM issue. You can find a list of diagnostic Beep Codes here. Also be sure to inspect the capacitors on your motherboard. If you notice any of them leaking or blown then that is your problem.

If you have extra RAM lying around then swap it into your PC and see if you're having the same problem. If not, pull out any unnecessary RAM just to test it. There are four RAM slots on this PC and you should be able to use any one of them. If your PC turns on then you can isolate which chip is giving you problems. Keep in mind RAM is ideally installed in matched pairs.

If you only have one RAM chip in your computer then I'm afraid you will either have to buy another one or borrow one from a friend to test. Shouldn't be too expensive anyway.

Beep at start-up is repeting why?

What does the beep sound like? If it's "beep. beep-beep" it's just a ram check. it's fine and it will always do that, unless you turn the beep off, which isn't recommended since the beep also alerts you of changes and problems. If you hear any other type/length/number of beeps, check the upper left corner of the monitor. Sometimes it goes by quickly, but it will tell you what was changed (eg. new mouse plugged in, etc.) This should only happen the first time you change a BIOS setting or add a device, and will not alert you upon restart.
Hope that helps. Thanks!:)

Computer does not boot up

Computer has three short beeps as it starts? computer RAM (memory) related issue.

If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps. Remove all new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory you're encountering either an incompatibility or defective new memory.

Sometimes when the computer is moved and/or over time a memory stick can become loose causing the computer to be unable to read the memory or get errors as it's reading it. Try fixing this issue by opening the computer removing each of the memory sticks you have in the computer and then placing them back into the computer.

Hope this helps.

Emachines single beep

It may be necessary to enter the BIOS setup to disable the integrated video and/or turn on the PCI slot(s).
It varies but entering the BIOS setup uses one or more keys (sometimes Esc, sometimes F1) that are pressed right after power on. Check your user guide to see which key give you access.
Most systems aren't smart enough to do that on their own and you may have the system looking at two video processors at the same time and is unable to resolve the conflict.

I don't know if I can solve this here. But the beeping noise is your pc trying to tell you what is wrong with it. Somewhere there are pc beep codes. http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1223 If these can't help you just put "computer beep codes" into google. Here they are:
Beep Code: Description of Problem: No Beeps Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals One Beep Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine Two Beeps POST/CMOS Error One Long Beep, One Short Beep Motherboard Problem One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps Video Problem One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps CPU Overheating

Edited boot config now computer beeps three times fans turn on high and screen stays black

Hi,

You can restore the "menu" of the "startup" to how it was before.

The idea is to reset the CMOS/BIOS to the original factory settings.  There are 2 ways of doing this:
1. Is to hit F2 again and look for Default Settings, click on that, save and exit; or
2. (Preferably), open your PC and look for the reset jumper (3 terminal with 2 shorted via a jumper). This is normally located very near the backup Lithium battery. Temporarily, move the jumper to the opposite pair and replace back to original position after a couple of seconds.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need additional information..

Good luck and kind regards.
