Question about Samsung ML 2010 Laser Printer

Red light Samsung ml 2010

I had a paper jam, after removing the paper the red light still stays on. The printer were turned down , but the problem says. While turning the printer on one can hear the motor trying to start but then it stops. Please help or direct me to a service agent. Thanks

    The red light comes on and the printer does not power up properly. Some one has suggested taking out the fuse. How is that done?

    Similar problem. Had a paper jam with the ML-2010. Removed jam, but the printer continues to jam--or will print with lines across the paper (drum issue?). Very annoying. Printer is a year old and has light usage.

    you should take out your cartridge shake it a bit and put it back , and it works for me.

Hi,

I had the same problem and I finally solve it!

I simply took out the fuse and put it again in the cartridge, i don't know why, but it works

    Hi Guest,

    the fuse is on the right front corner of the cartridge. It looks like this and is 1cm long.
    Use a screwdriver to take it out more easily.

    This azzhole ricardo there is no such fuse anywhere near any side of the cartridge on the ML-2010. I would know, I took the whole printer apart destroying it in the process. I had a persistent red light, wasnt a roller, wasnt a paper jam, wasnt the cover left open. Anyways the fuse he refers to is in the power circuit (where the usb and power plug go, if you unscrew 1 screw on each side that should be able to slip off, look at the orange board, not the green one and you will find it. Before you do any of this have the power plug unplugged for 2-5 min, then gently left off the unit with a dull flat screwdriver angle it at 45 under fuse and bring to 90 degrees gently. Now the trick question is if this is not complete bs do you take the fuse out power the unit on, and put it back or do you just take it out wait 1 min and put it back and power on. My printer is destroyed good luck.

    Actually, there _is_ a fuse on the toner cartridge, right where Riccardo said it was. I looked, I didn't see it, I looked again, I found it.

I removed a paper jam. red light is still on (not flashing).
There is probably still paper stuck in the paper path, this is very common. What happens if you load it with paper and press the test button?

It's a very short paper path, you should see a lever near where the paper exits, sometimes that lever sticks, on this machine the red light doesn't go away until you load fresh paper in the tray as well. You can see any leftover scraps when you pull out the toner cartridge, after that any other sensors are hidden inside the fuser assembly, requiring a shop repair.

Hellow!!!! everyone!!!!!!!
I have found that when this happens the cartridge is not aligning with the micro switch and so take it back out and as straight as you can push it in until it is locked and try again. It will stay red a bit before trying to reset. Even if you turn the power off it will sometimes take about 15 seconds to attempt to start.

I have found when this happens sometimes 5 attempts will get it to work. Easy to replace the cartridge as it is NOT the printer but the cartridge in most cases.

Red light stays on, but nothing moving after clearing paper jam
About the last post, I must also add that the main clue that led me to that conclusion, was the fact that, when I first turned the printer on, THE FAN BEGAN to rotate. Hence, I thought, all the other aspects were right, but somewhere there might be a mechanical "jamming" that stops either the fan or other part to move and obstacles the cylinders or gears from moving, hence sending the printer a signal of jamming. I had looked for the "messages" from the printer, and the diagnosis for our problem (red light in the online error, and green light in Toner Save) was that either there was no ink or no cartridge, no paper, or paper jamming (please post if there was other cause for this diagnosis). I discarded the other grounds, so the unique left was that the printer thought was that there was a paper jamming. This lead to the fix I described in my previous post.

LED pattern Possible Problems and Solutions
Your system has some problems. If this problem occurs,
contact your service representative.
On Line/Error LED
lights red
• Paper jam occurs. To solve the problem, see “Clearing
Paper Jams” on page 5.6.
• The front cover is open. Close the front cover.
• Paper tray is empty. Load the paper in the Tray.
• The toner cartridge is out of toner. Remove the old toner
cartridge and install a new one. See “Installing the Toner
Cartridge” on page 2.4.
• You pressed the Cancel button while the printer is
receiving data.
• In Manual Feed mode, there is no paper in the manual
tray. Load paper into the manual tray.
• If the printer is receiving data, the On Line/Error LED
slowly blinks green.
• If the printer is printing the received data, the On Line/
Error LED blinks green fast.
