Normally Impellers don't just break,, it may be misaligned or even a cracked or broken spline in the hold down ,, I checked on this pump,, it doesn't say if it was the T model or not, But from what I have searched,, No parts are available for this model,,

after more research ,, if you still have the instruction manual for the pump itself,, locate the number for the company and call them direct , if you don't have it,, check here

How do you take apart this pump to replace motor?

Looks like 6 or so bolts hold the housing to the pump, take those off, then the pump housing is going to be almost glued on from how tight and long it was connected. You can try to pry it apart with a small flat head or putty knife but be careful not to damage the housing or it might leak. Once the housings off you can either remove the impeller off the old one and put it on the new pump or buy a new impeller all together. If you keep the old impeller make sure to buy a new shaft seal and it would be a good idea to buy a pump seal also with some silicone lube and then reassemble. FYI it looks to be so the pump is permanently plumbed in so you would remove any bolts holding the motor in and pull that away from the pump but be sure to be careful and to disconnect any electricity beforehand.

I have a frontload whirlpool washer and the water will not drai n out. I have clean the filter but it wil still not drain

hello, Chances are there is something in the pump and usually it will break off the impeller. You might have to install a new pump. Try unhooking the pump hoses and put the unit in drain and see if the impeller is turning or damaged before buying a new pump. please dont forget to rate me..Thank You..

I have a proline 1.5hp pump need to replace the shaft seal. I can't seem to get the plastic impeller off. We use a screwdriver to hold the shaft screw and try to turn the impeller counter clockwise...

Keep trying - It is stuck and will likely break but you have to remove it to change the seal. It is not uncommon to need to replace the impeller when the seal fails since the water gets behind the impeller shaft and rusts the metal causing the impeller to bind. If you still cannot get it free pull the motor thru-bolts and lock the rotor once removed from the motor in a vice. Use a large pair of channel locks to break the impeller free...replace it if necessary.

Motor very hard to turn. Bearing at end with power cord turns freely. Bearing against the pump hardly turns. How do you remove the pump and get to the bearing to replace? Should the pump be replaces as...

Vern,

to answer the question "should the pump be replaced as well?)
there are a few things that can answer that question for us. What is the condition of the existing pump? How old is it? Can the impeller even be removed from the shaft without breaking it?

Basically to change the motor bearings you must remove the 10-16 screws on the wet end.
Remove the cap you just unscrewed.
remove the small 1" round shaft cap at the rear of the MOTOR. (on the electrical end) this should come out with just a flathead screwdriver. (if it bends a little its no big deal.)
Lock onto the shaft end we just uncovered with a LARGE flathead screwdriver.
While locked onto the shaft, turn the impeller counterclockwise until removed.
Note: some impellers have a set screw in the center of the impeller. If you have one, it is reverse thread and must be removed by turning clockwise.)

If you are unable to get the impeller off of the shaft, you might as well buy a whole new pump. These pumps are a few hundred dollars, but if you have to purchase a new motor, a new impeller, and a new shaft seal at the very least, then the cost is right up there with a new pump.

If you can remove the impeller, keep reading.
Next remove the (4) - 1/4" hex through bolts located on the motor at the electrical end.
With the impeller removed and the through bolts removed, the wet end should now seperate from the motor.
To remove the bearings, we must seperate the front faceplate from the motor housing by taking a large flathead screwdriver to the small flat notch in between the plate and the motor housing. Pry in small even incriments all the way around the plate to remove this safely.

Once this is done, the bearing can be removed. For this we need a good quality bearing puller (these can be expensive and if you dont own one this is another reason to buy a new pump.)
Lock the 2 arms of the bearing puller around the outside of the bearing, and lock the center pin on the shaft and turn clockwise to remove.

When installing the new bearing, use a piece of 3/4" metal electrical conduit about 6-8 inches inlegth.
Place the bearing on the shaft and fit the electrical conduit on top of it, making sure to only apply pressure to the RACE of the bearing (the inside track) tap lightly until the new bearing is in place.

Once this is done, reverse these instructions to reassemble.

How do I remove the pb460 booster pump in order to install the new one? Does the water have to be turned off from the pool?

You are trying to remove the pump so you can replace the impeller correct?
To remove the impeller you do not need to remove the whole pump. Turn off the electric first. Then just remove the several bolts and separate the back half from the front. Then disconnect the electrical from the motor and your can pull the motor with the seal plate, and impeller all the way out and work on it. To remove the impeller you need to lock the motor and unscrew impeller. Depending on the motor, you remove a cap in the middle of the tailpiece and hold with a wrench, or remove a cap that covers the whole end and grab the shaft with a wrench (usually 7/16") by sliding it under one of the components (not sure exact part off top of my head have to look at it) and then turning impeller. If the impeller has a bolt or screw in the middle remove that first. It should be reverse thread so make sure you don't turn the wrong way and break or strip. If there is no screw, or after you've removed it, just spin the impeller off (it should be counter clockwise standard thread). If you can't do it by hand and assuming you don't have an impeller wrench, be very careful and use a large pliers, pipe wrench, or strap wrench to loosen it. After that you unbolt the motor from the seal plate, pull the seal plate away from motor (this removes half the seal), and then pop the other half of the seal from the seal plate. Make sure replace the shaft seal, and use a tiny bit of pool lube on the rubber parts when installing, but keep the white and black ceramic surfaces 100% free of any dirt, grease, etc while working with them

The bearing needs to be pressed onto the ceramic shaft before inserting the impeller into the housing. Then it just drops in (while trying to hold on to it the best you can to keep it from slamming in.). New bearings didn't come with the new impeller? If not you will have to carefully pry out the old bearing from inside the housing.

IMPELLER KEEPS BREAKING

When you replace the impeller be sure the wear ring goes on with the wide side out (away from the impeller) and you lube the "O" rings before you put the pump back together so It does not bind. I hope this helps, good luck.

There is something jamming the impellers in the pump (coin, nail, bobby pin, ect.) You need to manually get the water out, remove the pump, and see if you can find and remove the obstruction. If you find something in the pump and remove it, check the impellers before you put the pump back in. There are 3 plastic impellers, make sure none of them broke off. If they did not break off, your good to go. If one or more broke off, you will need to replace the pump, you cannot buy just the impellers. good luck.

Impelor keeps coming off pump on zanussi aquacycle do i need to replace whole pump or can i fix

If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

Your new pump will be complete with the impeller.
