Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I've recently run into a problem with my 40D. Suddenly, the images are darker than they normally are. I've tested with different lenses and cards and the problem is consistent. I've also made sure the batteries are fully charged. This also seems to be consistent with whatever mode I shoot in: Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Automatic. Please let me know if you need more information for this. Thanks. Matt Smith

Hi Matt. Turn the camera on and go into menu. Find reset. Reset the camera which will take it back to the original factory settings. Then take a few shots and see if the problem is solved. It most likely will be. If not, you will have to send it in for a tuneup. J.

Try restarting your computer or try it on a different computer, "Busy" usually means something is preventing your computer from reading the camera. If that does not help, try calling Radio shack or Staples.

A Sony lcd tv with suddenly dark images

Look for loose contacts of RC jacks, cables. Since same problems are there with other input device, there could be board problems. Better to refer it to a qualified service technician.

My canon 30D comes up with err 99 pleas help

My first stab at guessing would be the older-style lens can't communicate to the 40D, resulting in a read error. Any problem when using other newer lenses?

Try doing a full format of the card using the camera - don't just delete all images. Then re-zero the shot count. See if that helps.

Got Error 99 on my 40D. Have done all the obvious: remove battery, replace battery, check lenses, SD cards. Have talked with several people who tell me it's "common" with 40D. Any assistance you...

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Thanks!

open device manager, connect camera, it will be seen briefly with yellow triangle and exclamation mark. open it up and uninstall.
Disconnect camera and close windows down. Restart windows, connect camera and switch on, windows will then find it and install driver. Took me hours to figure this one out
