The blue is the "line in" and has will amplify better than the pink "microphone in" port. And the one left if the green "speaker out".

You can use either the line in or microphone input, as long as the levels are adjusted for volume input to minimize distortion in the sound.
The speaker symbol should be clicked on on the lower bar of Windows 7 to see the graphic equalizer in windows for each input of the sound card. Other versions of windows also have a speaker symbol down below on the right, I think.
