"Check paper size" cannot be cleared on a Canon MF5770

I fixed the problem... bottom line is clear all of the print jobs. This error in my case was caused by print jobs being sent to the machine that called for paper sizes that were not there.

There are a few solution do this problem first thing to check is the printer will print with plain 8.5 x 11 paper from the top tray. Then check if the bottom tray is correctly on the mark for 8.5 x 11.
If both are good please post to me and I will instruct you what could be done further.
Good Luck!!

My MF5770 5-in-1 printer is demanding that I load A4-size paper. It refuses to print or to do anything other than scan without A4, even though I've always used 8.5X11 in. paper.

Make sure that you have the correct driver from here:

I turn it off to clear the error. Wait about 10 seconds then switch back on & it should be cleared.

Red alarm keep coming to my (Canon imageCLASS MF5770 Multifunction Printer) and display message: CHECK PAPER SIZE AND CHANGE PAPER SIZE CASSETTEL LTR. please guid me through steps. thanks!!

Chances are the paper size in the cassette doesn't match the paper size (or alignment) that you've tried to print. Verify the paper and alignment of the paper match what you're trying to print, and that the paper guides in the cassette are locked into position for the size and alignment you're working with.

Check Printer paper

Check the document you are trying to print, or try to print a Testpage.
If that fails try updating the firmware :)

MF5770 ck paper size- change paper size

Go to the queue of print documents and continue deleting them until you get a message that reads no more in the queue. That will clear the error and then you should be able to resend with the correct paper size.

In our case the correct paper size was selected and received this error.

Alarm light is on it says( check paper size) this is a canon mf57700

I had this problem also. I was unable to clear the paper size error. Finally I loaded the papersize that the printer was wanting (A4 in my case) and let it print. Once the print job finished it was back to working normal.
