Repair broken line on compressor

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

I do not think you want to try and do this. First, The EPA has a $27,500.00 fine for non qualified people handing refrigerants.

You need to:

1.) Braze a 'T' valve on the stub end tube on the compressor. Crimp and braze one end of the 'T' valve.
2.) You need to replace the refrigerant filter. This is tricky so you do not braze the filter connections closed.
3.) You need to get a vacuum pump, connected to the 'T' valve and hold the vacuum for 10 minutes. The vacuum test for both leaks and pulls out the moisture in the system.
4.) You need a 32a refrigerant gas tank.
5.) You need a dual gauge, 3 gas hose assembly, arranged with the refrigerant tank and the vacuum pup to suck the refrigerant in the seal system.
6.) The amount of refrigerant is on a label on the side wall of your fresh food section. Too much or not enough refrigerant your unit will not cool.
7. You measure the amount of refrigerant in ounces using a scale with the gas cylinder setting on top of the scale.

A repair of this nature if I came to your home would be about $450.00+.

You can go to a "Sears Outlet (Scratch & Dent) Store", and same several hundred dollars on a new unit, with a one year warrantee.

Gas 'check' lite comes on no gas burn

While the coach should be level within 3 deg side to side and 6 front to back it will not keep the refrigerator from lighting on gas or operating on electric. Out side where the gas line comes into the refrigerator valve there is a small brass knob that is used to shutoff gas flow. Verify that the valve is in the open position. Then there is a peep window that will be able to be opened so you can see if the the unit is lighting and burning. Turn the refrigerator on in gas mode and see if it is trying to light. You will hear the spark ticking. It will try this three times before locking out. If it does light but burns and continues ticking as if it is still trying to light, then the board is not sensing the flame and will cause the valve to close. If this is the case you need to check the gap between the igniter tip and the burner tube. It should be approximately 1/8". If the gap is correct then the ignitor/thermocouple may be bad and it could be the lower board. You would have to determine if you want to try the thermocouple and see if it corrects the problem or take it to a reputable repair shop to have them check the board.

HREEZER WORKS ON PROPANE BUT FRIDGE DOES NOT

You more then likely have a weak flame. Most of the time this is caused by a dirty orifice. It is located just before the burner. You must first remove the burner cover, then you will see it. It is the brass piece that the propane shoots through before entering the burner. You can unscrew the orifice from the gas valve assembly. Then soak it in rubbing alcohol for an hour or so. Blow it out with air and re install it. DO NOT POKE ANYTHING THROUGH IT! This should fix your problem. ArctiCold Refrigeration We keep it cold or Store a4efa292-1c08-40ca-a993-9395db1be4a3.jpg

RM 2652 check light comes on anywhere between 1 minute and 5 hours after startup. Does same thing on auto or gas. If I restart it does same thing. I never know how long it will work. Please help.

According to the service tip manual if your check light is on then it will be one of these:

DC Volts

Wiring

LP Gas

Manual Gas Valve

Solenoid

Orifice

Burner

Thermocouple
Lower circuit Board

Since it does it on both AC and gas, you can toss out the LP Gas, Manual Gas Valve, Orifice and Burner.

Make sure that you have good DC voltage and tight connection to your refrigerator.

HAve an Americana refrigerator works great on AC but doesn't cool on lp but burner gets hot??? Any help

If thid is a piezo electric refrigerator, then there asnwer is probalblyloss of refrigerant for the gas burner coil. The piezo electric does not need the refrigerant to work but the propane gas does. I assume this is for a trailer/camper? It is possible to be some other problem , but loss of refrigerant (freon) isthe most likely problem. This will require an expert to determine the source of leak and repair it.

Dometic 2811 gas/AC refrigerator poor operation on gas mode.

Your gas valve is sticking. Could be a bad thermocouple.
Set it to come on, then with a screwdriver handle or something similar, tap, tap, tap gently on the gas valve to see if it lights.
Once it unsticks it should operate OK.
If it does not unstick, replace the gas valve.

Dometic rm 2612. Shuts down on gas.

Ron;
Check the burner assembly. 1 screw, remove the sheet metal cover and clean it. The burner collects rust. This is the likely. Other issues would be the gas pressure usually checked with a manometer. Should 11" of water column. If your furnace works good then the gas pressure is probably ok. Also could have a faulty ignitor which sends a miliamp signal back to the circuit board. Check the burner first, after that leave the cover off and turn the fridge on. Watch the ingnitor attempt to lite the burner. Be sure the spark is going to the burner and not shorting out on the sheet metal it is mounted in. If it is shorting to the frame the ignitor needs replacing.

Spark no gas

first off use a BBQ match and try to light one burner manually with the match. if it lights then the next thing to do is physically move the ignighter closer to the burner plate. if not then you should check the gas line as far into the stove as possible. and if you still dont have a flame then its either time (for the tool savey) to tear into it checking all gas lines and valves to see if they are open or you should call the repair man. sorry i couldnt be of more help

good luck
