Question about Savin 2545DP Black and White Copier
I have a Savin 2545 that needs a new hard drive.
1. Can I just replace it with a blank identical Maxtor 541DX drive?
2. What format should be used to initialize it. (FAT32?)
3. Is there any software that needs to reside on the drive? If Y, where can I get it?
4 Can any Ultra ATA/100 hard drive be used?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hit the yellow botton ( Reset/ CA), then 1 then 0 then7 , then hold down the (Stop) botton till the display changes... Then turn the copier "OFF" then "ON" it may clear the code. The code has to do with your fixing unit.

The machine should automatically recognize the new PCU. Blank copies would lead me to think you have further problems, charge corona? transfer issues? If you try to make a copy and open the front door real fast when the paper should be at the transfer unit, is there an toner image showing on the drum? If yes, then you have charge but not getting transfer. This is a hard problem to troubleshoot without seeing machine. Anyway good luck, please rate this. Thanks ..... Wait... just had a thought. On the shaft, on the inside of the rear frame, that drives the drum there is a coupling that is spring loaded. Sometimes the shaft gets gunked up and coupling does not pop out not connecting to the PCU, which could cause blank copies and will still say replace pcu. You could add a couple of drops of oil to that shaft to loosen it up if that's the case.

Open the operation panel the cable which connects the controller and the operation cable might be not good attached or something like that.
The operation panel you might open by unscrewing the two screws on the front of the control panel and then pull the panel towards you.
Inside you will see some cables see if they are good connected or just disconnect them and connect them again.
If that not fix the problem than you have problem with the controller.
You might do the same procedure like with the panel.
Just remember to turn off the machine before you pull out the controller.
The controller can be pulled out by unscrewing two screws on the left back side of the machine where you connect the machine with computer you cannot miss that part because the hole machine is with white plastic and that part of the machine is metal part.
