Look through the sight hole to see if the glow plug is lighting,, ( a bright orange color) if it does it means that the solenoids that control the gas release are not working and the glow plug will shut itself off,

i had this same problem it sounds like a thermal fuse its usualy a small device white mabe with 2 wires connected to it on the back of your dryer there might be a cover plate but you shouldn't have to tear into your dryer, you can also check em with an Ohms tester,to see if the thermal fuse is working properly

Try resetting the dual breakers for the dryer in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. Power surges from the utility can cause the breakers to trip. If this doesn't help, then you probably have a problem within the dryer. Good luck!

My dryer was working. I stopped it to take my clothes. When I went to put in the wet clothes my dryer would not start.

Try pressing on the door to close it and
see if it starts. It sounds like the door switch has failed or the actuating arm is bent. You should hear a click as the door just barely opens or is nearly closed. No click = no start. I.e. Door switch problem.

Dryer wont start

Hello. i can help you. begin by checking the power.

Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

If that doesnt get it working again get back as there are other things that could have gone wrong.

My whirlpool dryer is dead

Most newer dryers have a thermal fuse link which prevents them from producing heat if it has overheated due to lint build up. Safety! Remove the back of the dryer after you unplug it of course. Look for a white, two connector, block about 1/4 by 1-1/2 inches, mounted to the back of the heat transfer duct. Remove both of the wires from the the connectors and test the fuse for continuity. Multi meter needed. This should show 0 Ohms. If there is no change on the meter than this fuse is bad. Most any appliance parts place will have in stock. $12 - $15 Clean out as much lint as posible from the exhaust opening with a vacuume and reinstall the back panel.

Problem with top dryer on stackable frigidaire

The switch may be bad or just not engaging when the door is closed. To test it you could tape something to the inside of the door right where the door meets the switch and see if it comes on. I did that and it worked. I use it as a temp. fix.
