Question about Frigidaire PLD4460REC Stainless Steel Dishwasher

1 Answer

Upper rack roller axles are brittle and 1 has

I have a Frigidaire PLD4460REC0 dishwasher that is less than 5 years old. The upper rack roller axles are brittle and 1 has cracked. Frigidaire and all parts companies I've contated state you cannot purchase the rollers or axles but have to purchase the whole rack adjustment assembly which is about $130.00 for the right hand side. Is there a replacement available for this axle or wheel assembly that will work with this dishwasher?

Our upper wheel failed. It is part of the huge assembly called the "Rack Adjust" on our model # PLD4460REC Frigidaire Dishwasher and cost $88 to $120. Hey.. thanks to the guy above I was able to fix my machine without spending to much!! for a huge part when all I needed was the upper wheel. the part # for the upper wheels is = PS976006 and is for another model dishwasher (Sears located it for me first.. without trying to make me buy the huge assembly) but might work... I will order and give them a try. The model # referenced about seems to be incorrect... We used model # PLD2855RFC1... as google helped us fill in the missing part# letters. I asked frigidaire... why they encouraged customers to borrow this small part from the store display.. why not just sell it!! .;)

SOURCE: Top rack keeps slipping off of tub rollers.

I was sold this model and had the same thing happen.. However when calling for service, my service rep would not come out, so I contacted Fridgidaire and provided the model and serial # of my unit and was told I was sold an unrepairable unit that had already been returned for service for the same thing and considered unrepairable and was no longer under warranty. When my supplier finally came out he put new longer rollers in my dishwasher, but when I mentioned what Fridgidaire had told me, he went back to his supplier and they got me a new one. Being installed today.. The new one is a PDA2855 model as I am told that the PLD2850 is no longer sold.

You can try to obtain the part from KitchenAid or an appliance parts supplier. However, you may only be able to get the complete assembly.

Lower Rack

  • Remove all of the dishes from the lower dishwasher rack.
  • Pull the lower rack out of the dishwasher so that it rests on the dishwasher door.
  • Lift the lower rack up and out of the dishwasher.
  • Place the new lower dishwasher rack on the dishwasher door, then push it into the dishwasher.
  • Upper Rack

Insert the rollers on the bottom of the new upper dishwasher rack into the rack arms, then push the rack completely into the dishwasher.
. Align the end caps with the ends of the arms, then push the end caps into place.

TOP RACK NOT CLEANING DISHES

Possible that the motor impeller has good particles in it, causing poor water pressure, which would be most evident on the top rack. You would have to remove the spray arm, then the filter, then the torx screws to get at impeller....unfortunately, that model of dishwasher isn't the greatest in the first place for washing, since it only has the one spray arm.

2 upper rack rollers cracked in Maytag #MDB7600AWS - cant find simple replacement rollers for inside track - 1 1/4" - of upper rack.

JP Weld works great on repairing these junky Maytag parts. Note that they don't have a replacement for these upper wheels and a guy is selling expensive stainless steel replacements. The round connector broke off of ours that holds the wheel to the rack. My wife found a plastic button that fit within the space and we glued it with JP Weld epoxy (water and temperature resistant). 10 washes later, still working great! I expect it will "heal" any other plastic parts. NEVER will I buy a Maytag again!

GE Adora Dishwasher Upper Rack Binding Issue

I have a GE Profile model PDW7800.... and just replaced the rollers on one side since one of them had broken. There is a 'magical' way to reinstall the rack so the side guides ride inside the roller guides without touching. I suspect that the rack has not been reinstalled in the precise manner - which I am still trying to figure out. The new roller assembly which attach to the rack fit differently than the original ones. I found that you do have to remove the rollers screwed into the wall to get the glides out and that could also cause rough gliding. Part of the 'binding' is designed, I believe, to keep the racks from coming out too easily.

Frigidaire FDB740RCS0 Upper Armnot Turning

the motor stops and runs in the opposite direction to pump water up to the top rack. you first need to listen for the motor to stop and start. if you hear that open the door and try to tell if water was coming out of the top spray arm.
