The battery is stuck down with doublesided tape. After removing the chassis with the 4 screws you can slide a screwdriver under the battery and ease it away. To disconnect the battery just pull the 2 wires. The connector should come away with without damage. Then push in the new connector. You can attach the new battery with a litttle double sided tape if you wish. Then replace the chassis and 4 screws, refit the cover and fix it with the screw. Push on the small cover, put on some double sided tape if the old stuff has lost its stickiness.

Everything about replacing the battery was so hard - from the instructions being wrong ( my player had one screw to be removed, not two) through to the generally fiddly nature of the whole process. The battery was only grudgingly meant to be replaced!

The connector slides out towards the top of the player , view it carefully and you will see

SOURCE: replace battery

since posting "0744tony" I llevered out the little bage on the top/back of player, and with the tiny screw driver that came with the battery, I undid the little screw underneath, it didn't come out easily. the old battery was stuck down with double sided tape and you have to be v v careful not to tear out the minute wiring our you'll be in trouble. I did change it, charged it up and all worked OK.

You could send in the Sansa E280 to here: http://www.pdasmart.com/pda-battery-center/battery_SANDISK_SanDisk-Sansa-e280_battery_center.htm

They will replace your battery for you.

You could also purchase the battery here: http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Sansa-Battery-E200-E250/dp/B003E4WL6K and install it yourself.

How do I replace the battery on the Sansa e200 player?
1. Remove the back on the e200 by removing the 4 screws.
2. Lift off the back by using a finger nail or a small flat head screw driver. It will not take a lot of force to remove. NOTE: When replacing the e200 battery be sure that the contacts on the battery line up with the contacts on the player.
3. The battery has three gold contacts on one end of the battery, which is near the words SanDisk Sansa. Be sure these contacts match up with the three gold contacts on the back of the player.
4. Lightly push the lined up battery up against the contacts of the player until the bottom end of the battery can be pushed into place.
5. Replace the lid to the back of the player and then plug the player into the computer using the Sansa cable.
6. Once the player has connected to the computer and is ready to be used or says "Connected", unplug the device. NOTE: If the device goes directly to a black screen after unplugging it, then the battery has been replaced incorrectly. Take the back off the player once again and flip the battery around and the e200 device should work properly.

It doesn't come on its an mp3 player and its not compatible

Hello

Verify that theplayer has a battery installed if it won't respond to you pushing its power button. Remove the battery cover on the back panel of the device. If no battery is installed, insert a new AAA-sized battery. Insert the battery according to the "+" and "-" symbols listed on the player's battery compartment.

Replace the battery if one is present and the player still won't turn on. The existing battery may be dead. A new battery will provide approximately 18 hours of continuous playback before it needs replacing, according to creative

Battery life is not good. please advise.

Hello,

has the battery life span been better when you first started using the player?

It is advise able that you replace the battery of the player, that is if it has been lasting long before.

Or you could dispose the player and go for a better one that the battery life span would be better.

I would also advice further that you should not go for an MP3 that has an in-built battery. Go for he one that the battery would easily be replaced.

I wish you all the best.

How can I charge my centon 4gb mp3 player?

I have the same player. You can use a rechargable battery. But you cannot charge the battery by connecting it to the USB. You must charge the battery with a AAA battery charger - they sell them at walmart for like $15. The rechargable battery really works excellent in this player - I listen to my player all day long and rechargeable batteries are the only way to go for me! Make sure you have four batteries though so you can always have a backup charged as the charger takes 8 hours to charge the batteries.

There's no replacement for it, you have to recharge the battery by installing the software provided onto your computer, then simply connecting the player with the USB connector. When it's connected, it'll start to recharge.
