Could be that the voltage that is going to the amp is to low or something is shorting out inside the amp if it is voltage then you need to add a secondary battery if that dont fix it then its inside the amp

Everything works fine until I engage the PTO for the mower deck. The battery discharge light comes on and eventually the battery goes dead.

The PTO clutch is an electro magnet. There is probably a dead short within the clutch body. Replace the Clutch.

I Have an spl audio amp 520 watt and when it turns on it automatically goes to red which is protect. what could be causing this problem

It could be 3 things. There could be a short somewhere, your ground isn't strong enough, or you accidently switched up the ground line and the power line on the amp. Since the fuses aren't blown I would say that your ground isn't strong enough.

I have a spl fx2 1800 that i got from a guy for 40 bucks and it is frozen in the protect mode is there a way i can get it to come out of the protect mode with out sending it in to the shop

The most likely culprit when an amp goes into protection mode is the power wiring. Check your ground wire, it should be solidly connected to the vehicle chassis in a paint-free location. Then check the live power wire and make sure it has a good connection. If that doesn't work, download the user manual from retrovo.com. That should help you to decode why the amp is in protect mode.

Its in protect mode and wont go back to normal

disconnect everything except the power, remote, and ground. turn off then on. if it goes into protect mode then there's a posibility that the amp if fried. check all the speaker inputs and outputs to make sure that there are no stray wires shorting out. if it stays on then you may have a short on a speaker wire or an auxilary input wire. plug each one in one at a time until it goes into protect mode, then that's the shorted wire or it could be a shorted speaker.

I have an spl 1440 watt amp model st2-1440 that i cant get to turn on without 15 volts to the remote wire and then it gets really hot really fast. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

Generally a battery puts out 14.1 volts to the amplifier. The only way your amp would get really hot really fast is if the amp was configured to run at to low of an ohm load.

That amps spec is to run at 2 ohm stereo. But I do see an option to get 1400 watts with 2 ohm mono, but that would require 2 dual 2 ohm subs using only one voice coil bridged to the amp. If you run both subs with both voice coils in parallel you'll get a 1 ohm load and that will overheat your amp.

Ohms are the units that impedance is measured with. You can kind of think of impedance as the measure of how hard the amp has to push to get current to flow. The lower the impedance, the more power will be output from your amp. Unfortunately, the amplifier circuit wants to push against something, so that if the impedance is too low, the amp can perform badly, and even overheat and burn out.

Hope this helps!

My 1800 watt kenwood keeps goin into protect mode as soon as i turn it on.. why?

disconnect load (speakers), check if it still goes in to protection if so then your output stage might be faulty

Amp not working correctly goes into protection

Disconnect the speaker wires from the amplifier and see if it still goes into protection mode. If it still goes into protect with the speakers disconnected, there's a problem with the amp; if not, you may have a blown speaker or a shorted speaker wire.
