Sound like you need to get PlayStation lazier lens cleaner. Do not touch the lens with you finger or cotton swab. use only a lens cleaner. After cleaning and it still don't work then you need a new lazier. You can find them on e-bay under PlayStation accessories.make sure you get the right year

I would not even bother with the lens cleaner. There is a very low probability that it will work.I don't know how much those things cost now or how much Sony will charge for a repair but in the late 90's,laser eyes cost a minimum of $60.Plus you have to ship it and call Sony for where to send it.If you try to self repair and buy one from a regular repair shop, there is a minimum price markup of 20%.I used to repair Nintendos and CD players.Sony's number is 1-800-345-7669.
