Tips for a great answer:
Removal of the Hard Drive...Remove the battery. (look at the big plastic covers, and under the cover is the laptop hard drive, others contain memory, etc).
Close out any active programs and turn off the laptop.
Unplug the power cord and disconnect it from the computer.
Wait approximatly twenty seconds, then turn off any printers,or other devices and disconnect them.
Unplug any remaining cables. Remove any installed PC cards. Close the laptop and turn it over; align the front edge of the laptop so that it is facing you.
Locate the battery-bay release latch on the lower left side of the laptop. Slide the latch toward the edge of the laptop and hold it in place while you remove the battery.
Locate and remove the screw that secures the hard drive on the lower-right side of the laptop. Turn the laptop over and open the display slightly (approximately half an inch). Slide the old hard drive out of its bay and insert the replacement drive in its place. Once the hard drive is fully seated, close the display and turn the laptop over. Insert and tighten the screw that secures the hard drive.
Return the battery to the battery bay. Press it into place until you feel the release latch click.
Reconnect all previously-disconnected cables and printer, etc or other devices.
Reinsert any previously-removed PC cards.
Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and reconnect it to the computer.
Turn on your computer and reinstall your system software using the CDs that came with your laptop
Insert the CDs and follow the onscreen instructions).
Your laptop is ready for use
