Hello, as mentioned earlier it is positioned next to component number 523 b240 and may be a reverse polarity diode.

It is black in colour, 2 connections either side and has the capital letter B in gold stamped on with a gold line at one end.Its located 1cm to the right of the power jack socket.

I am looking for a part number if u can help.

Also, if only one u24 or u25 is blown, do u have to change bpth?

    Your helpis appreciated.

Hi, thanks for your comprehensive answer. Judging by what you have said its the idiot diode.

Can I remove this and bridge the connection?

Thanks for your help..will bother u no more.

    Thanks for your help.

One last question....can the idiot diode be removed and bridged across?

    Will bother you no more.

where is component B on the board ?

OK , here is best info I have as I have NO components in that area that are marked ? so , I do not see any components marked 523 or b240 , also I have NO components with a letter B on it. Comeponets that are black and like a small brick with a line across one end are either a diode or an electrloytic capacitor. On tomtom go 300 the component between power in socket and battery socket is BLACK and is simply a straight through filter. ie bothe neutral and live go straight through it. I can tell you that this very rarely blows. Usually it is only U24 and U25. Check also the small diode on the switch side but directly oposite the switch next to the 2 large diodes. ie. it is near to the power socket SOLDER SIDE of board. This small doide is the 'idiot diode' , revers polarity protection. I might add that most GO 300 boards I have here have very few component ID's screen printed on the PCB , theres hardly anything at all only the IC 'U' numbers and test points. This is why I am puzzled by your reference to 523 and b240. The 2 IC's U24 and U 25 dont always blow both , sometimes only one. look for signs of a small eruption on the IC or a tiny crack . Any brown mark or burning under the chip is also a sign. If you remove the IC's and have all the tracks intact you are very very lucky. GOOD LUCK.

OK , now i see . The 2 large diodes are marked B240 . ..... looking at the PCB with switches at the top and the 2 diodes B240 bottom left. To the left of those and very close is small ceramic capacitor and just above that is the diode. ( this diode is about same size as the small capacitor ). I have also found this diode blown on some boards. You can replace this with a easy to obtain IN414N . this is a standard diode with normal lead connections but is small enough to fit . DO NOT BRIDGE ACROSS it, because this is the reverse polarity diode, this will introduce a short circuit. TomTom might work with this diode removed ( no diode ) but I have never tried this .

- Clean the browser history and cache.
- Remove unwanted tool bars.
- Update the browser.

After performing that if your problem still exists then simply download and run the program Reginout by using its system cleaner feature. Thanks

Feezer shut down with hi-temp alarm

Sounds like a defrost problem. Water came from frozen evaporator that thawed after being unplugged. It will operate great until evaporator freezes over again because it's not defrosting. Defrost components are defrost timer or Board, defrost heater, and defrost thermostat. One or more of those components have most likely failed. Also be sure Freezer / evaporator fan is working.

How to repair Moultrie D-40 camera

The component you are referring to, on bottom of PCB, is ID'd on PCB as D19...The component itself has 3 fine lines on end toward top of camera, and S12 is printed on top. Looks to be black carbon.
Hope this helps..am better than a novice in electronics, but don't have tools to work surface mount devices.

Hi, i'm a single mom and i'm having trouble with my 2003 gmc sierra truck. the problem is truck will not run after it has rained, truck runs fine on a dry day. do know what the problem is need help thank...

moisture problems, on a dry day start the truck and witha a water bottle or a hose start spraying different components , works better in a dark area, you may see a spark appear around the distributor, otherwise when you reach the problem area the truck will start to miss

DS 27425 sanyo

Hi there!

Your problem may be the same as "Mark P". Components may have been partially damaged during Lightning and failed after a while only or if caps get damaged they will overheat the circuit and cause other sensitive components to fail. I would start with primary and secondary supply and work your way through to all sections. If not familiar with TVs, refer to repair technician. Good Luck, JUS004
