Question about Timex 27191 Wristwatch

1 Answer

Hello, this may sound silly but I just bought a Timex Ladies watch and I can set the clock but it's not actually turning on when I push the side button in? It's a new watch direct from Timex so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong... there only seems to be two modes - pushed out (setting time), push in.... Please help

Hey mcdevito75, thanks. I don't remember seeing a small piece of plastic, but I've checked... There isn't the piece of plastic under the winder...

Is it connected to under the back lid? How on earth do you open that without damaging the casing?

Mcdevito75 here, A brand new Timex quartz watch will come with a small piece of plastic just under the crown to keep the battery form working the watch, simply remove this small piece of plastic from under the stem (winder) push the stem in and your Timex will work. If your timex is push button you may have to hold down the Mode 2--3 seconds to see display.

mcdevito75 here, OK, here we go, at times there is a piece of plastic under the winder to keep the winder from giong all the way down and start the watch, on your Timex there"s a piece of plastic under the back cover and not the winder, both have the same purpose and that is to keep the battery as fresh as posible for the new owner. ---------That piece of plastic you see under the back cover is actually under the battery keeping the battery from Ground (complete circuit) and thus starting the watch, simply pull on that piece of plastic it should slide right out, get a good grip on it and just pull gently but also firmly, it"ll slide out, the battery will ground or seat just right and your Timex will start.

Hello... I think this watch is broken as the piece of plastic you mentioned is not there at all! I will return it to TImex though so they can repair.

Thank you very much for trying so hard though

Just bought the watch, I set the time but the clock is not running. does it come with a battery? should I return it?

kindly check the lower sub dial if it is working. if yes, you don't have to worry because it is a chronograph. if not, check the crown if it is pushed down, if not, you got to push it, and if nothing happens you have to bring it back from the seller probably the problem is the battery. I hope i had been helped you.

Hello, I just bought a Timex Acqua with Indiglo

Depending on when you bought your Timex, you shouldn"t need a battery just yet, your Timex came with a good battery. Look under the stem (winder) for a small piece of plastic that is not allowing the stem to go all the way down, remove that piece of plastic and push the stem down and your Timex will start. Or if your Timex has buttons, look for a tab of plastic on the back cover, this tab of plastic is keeping the battery from (ground) a complete circuit remove this tab of plastic to start your Timex. Changeing the battery while fairly easy, you"d need jewelers screwdrivers and of course the new battery, Best Bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for the battery change.
