If you are feeling any heat at all when you place your hand by the air vent in the back, your element is at least partially working. We must determine if your model has a single or double element. If you have a double, perhaps only one side is working. To determine this, I will need the model number located under the lid or on the back of the unit.
If you have NO hot or warm air, it may be your element or the thermal fuse. Need model number.
But before we do that...
The most common cause of this is just a simple build up of lint. No matter how well you clean the lint filter during use, lint does build up and may require cleaning every few years or so. If you do have some warm or hot air and it seems to take two cycles to dry your clothes, try these simple checks (unplug dryer):
1. Insure that your vent hose is not clogged with lint. Unhook it on both ends and see if you can see through it. If there is a blockage, remove lint, reconnect and you should be fine. 2. Insure that the flaps on the vent outside of your house are free of lint and can open and close freely. If they are upstructed, clean. If they do not open or are bent, you may need to replace the vent. 3. Pull out your lint screen and see what you see? Lint build up? Take a coat hanger and bend it to stick into the lint trap well. Can you pull out any lint? Pull out as much as you can. Also look into the vent on the there lint inside? Use your hanger. This may involve opening the top of the unit, or pulling off the front to clean. But let's get the model number before you get that far.
Write me back with model number or let me know if cleaning the hose and/or vent help. I look forward to assisting you.

Does not heat

BAD HEATING ELEMENT. I believe that particular model has a ring type heater coil; very effective but fragile. The dryer must be disassembled until you see the entire heater coil, I've attached a photo. The replacement is less than $80 via Amazon Prime, I know, I've done this. The kicker is that the coil was still putting out a little heat but taking forever to dry. You're just asking for a fire or a total breakdown which could adversely affect your control board (not cheap). 6d5b17c5-d633-48b9-9850-df12ec31d346.jpg

My sq inverter works on cold air but when changed to heat stops working

Some models don't use the compressor as a heat pump for heating. And only use electrical heating coils in the heat cycle. If yours is one of those. It may be a burned connection at the thermostat or at the heater coil. Heater coils may have a safety diode or fusible link that opens if the heater coil is on but there is not enough airflow. If that is the problem you will need to remove the bad heater coil and replace it.
If your unit is a "true" heat pump the change over valve could be stuck or it's coil burned out. If you know what it looks like you can measure the voltage at the coil. If you have voltage sometimes you can whack the valve with a screwdriver handle to "unstick" the valve.

They are no various degrees of heater coil condition, they heat due to a closed circut and fail to heat if they are broken or burnt in two or if the circut is open. My thoughts are that you have a defective limit switch on the heating unit. It is turning the heating coils off to soon and short cycling. This will look like a round or ectangle housing with two wires connected to it with spade terminals and it will be mounted to the heater coil housing. It is also possible for the termostst to be defective so it is acting like you are on low or delicate setting evem when it is placed on high or cotton settings.

Kenmore Gas Dryer 11070852991. Have replaced the thermal fuse , operating thermostat, and High limit thermostat Still same problem . the dry starts ok egnites on and off for the 1st 10 minutes. Then stops...

bad gas coils,if you have heat for say the first 10 minutes then no heat you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils cool down you'll have heat again this is what happens when they start to fail, also when you change them out on the large coil there's a metal spacer that should be on the post when you remove the coil if it isn't on the post look inside the coil you have to pop it out and slide it back on post part number 279834 remove the two phillips screws, and remove the metal cover, remove the wires from the coil and install the new coils, easy job as long as you know what to look for lol hope this helps you out and good luck

Dryer was not heating up yesterday ...but working this morning ???? second time this has happened ....

you have bad gas coils.when the coils are starting to fail they work until they heat up and then stop working until they cool down and then they will work again, the dryer will work correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes, then the coils will heat up and stop working not allowing the gas to come in, the gas coils are on top of the gas valve, remove the two phillips screws, remove the cover and change out the coils, easy repair.let me know how you make out.also next time you need help send the model number so whoever is helping you they can look up your machine.

I have a Kenmore gas dryer Model # 110.76962501 will not heat. Would glow when turned on but then would kick off, no heat. Have checked all thermastats and sensors, everything checked out ok. So bought 2...

if the ignitor was glowing you could have bad gas coils or a bad gas valve.check the coils with a meter to make sure they are good, also when you read out all the other parts did you remove at least one of the wires from the part,if not you'll get false readings.if the coils are good make sure the wires are pushed on tightly and check the metal connectors inside the plastic wire connector that slides onto the coils,i've found some that were messed up and not making a connection with the coil.also on one of the coils there's a metal sleeve, i think it's the coil with three prongs on it,check the old coil to see if it's stuck inside the old coil,if it is stick a screw driver in it,push it out and slide it back on the post and slide the coil back on the post,if everything checks ok you could have a bad gas valve, try wacking it with something to see if it will let the gas through.let me know what you find with the meter and how you make out,

No heat only blows cold air

Not shure what heating coil you are talking about but you could have a bad heater control valve,a plugged up heater core,or you could be very low on water.
