Hampton Bay makes fans for HomeDepot. I would check with them or call 1(800) 654-0688 to try to get the information from the fan manufacturer. You need to find the UPC number which is located on a label on the top of the fan(body). I had a hard time making the numbers, but gat a camera and took a close up picture, but your is probably not mounted. The HomeDepot will help you find out the maker of your fan.(they have many makers so it is important to have the UPC no.)

Im going to remove the remote control hampton bay cieling fan. I have 2 blacks and one blue coming off the transmitter. Which ones do i use to conect to the black and white on the new switch

First of all, that's NOT a remote control fan(there's a pull chain showing). That black box is a capacitor. You need to get the same one & hook it up the same way it was.

I need to know how to connect wires for ceiling fan Hampton Bay model #crc 552 nm (ch) pb Coming from my ceiling are black/white/red wires Fan has blue/white/black wires. Fan won't work but, I want to have...

if you have a single switch for the outlet (I mean no separate switch for the fan) then on your fan you couple the blue and black wire and couple it to the black out of your outlet. The white (hot lead) to the white on your fan.
The red wire out of your house outlet may be for another control, but you should also ground the fan.
Use an electrical twist CAP for the red wire.
This configuration will turn everything on the fan and lights and allow you to use the pull cords to control the features.
NEVER LEAVE EXPOSED WIRES anywhere. Even if the insulation does not expose the wire, cap it.
(ps, I have this fan, and installed. It is heavy so make sure you have good support. After installation, make sure you balance the blades.)
good luck.

Wiring problems

The only thing which goes to the house's white wire is the fan's white wire.

Both the black and blue wires from the fan (black for fan motor, blue for light kit) go to the black house wire.

Anything else could result in a fire, a melting of internal parts, or a massive electrical explosion arc. The owner's manual is very clear about how the fan is supposed to be wired, and you voided the warranty by going against it.

You may have blown a fuse or a circuit breaker, or you may have blown something within the fan, or your house may be wired in series (very unlikely) in which case you need a new separate wire run for the light kit.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Fan works but no light

Your receiver is shot and must be replaced. This is a small black or grey box two inches by four located under the cieling mount cover.

Installing ceiling fan with two switches AND a remote

in your ceiling box should be three wires. a red goes to the three way switches, a black goes to the hot and the white is the neutral. the fan wires are black, blue and white. since you have a remote, connect the [fan] blue & black together with the [line] black. connect all white wires together. the remote will now ramp up your lights from off to full on and the fan remote will let you choose lo med high and off. just tape up the red wire in the box.
