All you need to do now is to buy a new tact switch and replace all of them to resolve the issue. I'm not sure how it looks like the one installed in your unit but you may click this link to buy online. RCA TV Model F36650 Verticle

There are defective components in the vertical circuit. If you can solder and are comfortable working inside the set (there are dangerous high voltages present even when unplugged), you can fix this. Let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

Replacing CRT neck socket after arcing problem.

Hi.

Don't know what happened to the last post I sent you its disappeared.

What I think you should do is definately replace the CRT white socket (tube base plug).
You can either take the CRT number from the label on the tube & put it in to google then search for Crt base plug.
Or see if there is A repair shop local to you who can order the tube base for you.
Are you definately sure the arcing is external to tube & not happening in the tube neck ?
Is the CRT made by LG / PHILIPS. These are notorius for for arcing over internally I must write at least 1 A week off for this problem.

If you can still run the set try tapping the neck of tube with screwdriver handle if pic flashes or goes predominately1 colour you are looking at the tube with internal short.

If this is the case there are ways of trying to get rid of the internal short let me know what you find ?

If the set was off, your horizontal output transistor is most likely good. Some sets do not have fusible resistors and the ones that do usually never have problems with those resistors. With the set unplugged, carefully remove the back and follow the power cord to where it attaches to the main board. At that spot there should be a small glass fuse, usually sitting in 2 small fuse holders so that the fuse will pop right out. If that fuse is good and the set will not turn on, it means that there is a serious problem deeper in the set. If the fuse is bad, you can try replacing it with a fuse of the same rating. If the set works, great, but if the new fuse goes bad, there is a serious short somewhere in the power supply and the set should be serviced by a qualified tech.

Press the cursor right button to select Closed Caption 1. You will likely have to do this with the original remote. A universal remote may not allow you to do this.
