I want to test my pressure switch. If I jump the two wires will it by-pass the switch and run? My unit keeps cycling on and off. If I backwash the pool it runs for an hour or so, but then starts cycling. I think the pressure switch is going bad, but I want to test it first. Please send answer to Thanks

Hello KIRK Yes it will by-pass the switch BUT if it is low pressure/restricted flow the swtich is doing its job!Check flow first! you could make dangerous STEAM if you run it with low flow & the saftey switch jumped out.

2006 Lincoln town car will start and then shuts down and have to jump start.

Try to pull codes. There are a lot of components and systems involved in keeping an engine running. One sensor that is often overlooked is the oil pressure switch. If it fails or the plug comes off, the motor will start but shut down soon after. Sometimes the wire will chafe against metal. If the wire grounds itself, the computer reads it as no oil pressure and will kill the fuel pump.

83 ford e350 starts to the start position and then dies in the run position need help

Sounds like you have a wiring problem, check the plug connector and wiring that plugs into the ignition switch, look for discoloration or signs of over heating or melting, if ok , unplug the connector from the ignition switch and with 2 jumper wires you can hot wire you car, and test if it stays running, jump the hot wire to the coil wire, and jump the hot wire from the starter to ground until it starts up.

Low gas pressure can be due to water buildup in the gas line trap. Turn off the gas supply and empty the trap.

Engine won't start turn

no crank
1: battery dead, not charged. does it jump crank?
2: bad battery (corroded clean em) cables lugs. (4 ends)
3: bad starter /solenoid, assembly
4: engine seized, (turn it by hand you cant?)
5: bad key line, (from key switch to PRNDL to stater , no connections)

jump start it, if passed test, battery bad/discharged , and if fail?
you then (battery is good)
hot wire the starter solenoid, keys in pockets
fail? yes, bad starter, seized engine. turn by hand , now you know.
if passes hot wire test, bad key line. (tiny wire)

easy huh?

My ac is not working in my 93 buick lesare my father thinks it might be the low pressure sensor when he tested it there was no power coming out

you can jump the compressor with a paper clip bent into a u shape to see if it willl run if your refrigerant is gone, jump it at the low pressure switch across the wiring harness.

Jumped the relay and compressor came on and system charged it was blowing cold. When I put relay back in the compressor will not come on. I swapped relays and still nothing. But every time I jump it it...

So the relay coil is not being energized. You will need to determine why. It could be the ground signal from the PCM, which is effected by the control panel A/C switch or else it is the positive signal from the 10 amp CRUISE fuse, which must pass thru the pressure switches (high and low). First check the fuse. If the fuse is good, use a 12 volt test light to probe the relay socket to see which signal is not getting to the relay. Connect your test light clip to chassis ground, start the car, turn the A/C on, and probe the relay socket. There should be 2 hot terminals in the socket--one from the 10 amp compressor fuse, which you have been using to power the clutch, and one from the pressure switches. If you don't get this second hot terminal, try jumping each pressure switch connector one at a time to see which one is not closing. If you DO get both hot signals, the problem is the signal from the PCM. Move your test light clip to battery positive and probe the relay socket again. If the negative signal is absent from the relay socket, only the clutch terminal will show any voltage. If this is the case, you will first need to check the continuity of the wire (dark green with a white stripe) from the PMC connector 2 pin 47 to the relay socket. If the wire is good, the problem may be in the control panel. If you get this far and/or you get stuck along the way, please get back to me.

Not getting power to the air condition compressor

did this just happen?? ck the cycling switch, its located at that big silver can on the pass side, in front of the firewall. if you wiggle the wires or tap on it, and the a/c compressor starts working, replace it.
