When attempting to set up or make network connections on a Windows computer, you may encounter a Limited Or No Connectivity error message similar to the following:
Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might be unable to access the Internet or some network resources.

This message can result from any of several different technical glitches or configuration problems. Follow these steps to resolve Limited Or No Connectivity errors in Windows.
1. Determine whether your network access is functioning properly (that you can reach local network resources and the Internet). If you are using a broadband Internet and Windows XP Service Pack 2, this message is often a false error report. See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 892896 for details on how to work around this error appropriately.
2. If your network access is non-functional. continue to the following steps.
3. If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps.
If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary.
4. If connecting to your network using an Ethernet cable, your cable may have failed. Temporarily replace your network cable with a new one to determine whether this resolves the issue.
5. If using a broadband router and DHCP on your network, check your computer's IP address to verify it is valid and not a private address that starts with 169.254. An invalid address of the form 169.254.x.x signifies your computer's inability to obtain a usable IP address from your router.
To resolve DHCP configuration problems, proceed to the following steps.
6. Reboot your computer, router (if present) and broadband modem together, then re-test your connection.

8. If your connection remains non-functional, update your router settings to change from dynamic to static IP address configuration, and set an IP address on the computer appropriately.

My connection is very slow,it is smart broaband


hi there, you don't need a router for smart broadband or other wireless broadband, cause all wireless broadband is already routed, if you used a router the connection will slow down due to NAT and built firewall of your router. Option: If you want to share your internet connection to other computer, used a HUB switch this would be better. thanks

Did a bit of research for you on this and came across a ten step set of instructions which should hopefully correct, or at least narrow down your problem:

I want to secure my wireless broadband router..how can i secure it?


Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router with the wireless computer.
you will need to connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
check the IP address of the computer.
open the router set up page of the router.
Here you can change the wireless settings of the router.
Now once you change the network anme and security on the router, you will need to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computers.

With a cable broadband connection, the cable line comes into the cable modem. The cable modem does the work changing the cable signal to a network connection and sends an I.P. address to the computer. With some cable internet providers you can hook the network cable into the in port on a router, wireless or wired, then hook up computers to the router. At this point the router gets the IP from cable and uses it's own IP routing for your internal network. Some broadband providers control your access by the computers mac address which registers with the vendor. If this is the case then the easy way to make it work is to get a router which can clone a mac address so the vendor still sees the same mac address.

How do i connect up my router


To physically install the router
Step 1: Connect the power adapter Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
Step 2: Connect the router to the computer Disconnect the ethernet cable that is connecting the broadband modem to the network adapter in the computer. Connect the ethernet adapter in the computer to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Step 3: Connect the router to the modem Connect the ethernet port on your broadband modem to the WAN port on the router.
Step 4: Check link lights and connections
Check the front of the router to make sure the Power, WAN and LAN1 lights are on.

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and if your ISP is dsl configure the router settings by setting your isp username and password
Step 7: test the Internet connection.
