You have to go under network settings in your ps3 XMB (cross media bar) and go through the normal processes of setting up the internet. it should ask if you want easy or custom, select easy. then it should ask if it is wired or wireless, select wireless. then it should ask to scan, automatic, or manual. select scan to scan the area of the local WLAN. select the SSID that matches your router. the rest is kinda self explainitory

Hi, My ps3 40gb is a refurbished replacement for another faulty ylod ps3. the refurbished model developd an issue with a stuck disk, I managed to remove this disk but now it has delevolped issues...

I would try not loading the backed up files and see if you can do the internet and all the stuff you couldn't do, because it could be there is some corrupt files in the back-up files somewhere.

How do u hook up ps3 online usin broadband card and laptop

Hi, The PS3 has a built in wireless card. You need a broadband internet connection& a wireless router for it to work this way.

What hardware do you have? You wont be able to connect the PS3 to the internet if you only have a laptop with a wireless broadband card. this is to be used for one PC/laptop at a time. Sorry

you could query this with Verizon though i am sure they would agree, that it is to be used for one PC/laptop to access the internet.

Thanks

Connect ps3 to laptop via web and walk

Connecting PS3 to a network I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me, was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks!

PS3 and Internet connection using Ethernet - from a mac

Where did you obtain the IP address?

If you went into System Preferences and saw the PS3 there and copied the assigned IP address, then it should work.

Conneting ps3 online through laptop using o2 broadband

Are you connecting wirelessly or with a cord? if wireless, you need to make sure that you are selecting the same security setting as the connection that you pick in 'network settings'. If the option is 'none', then you need not worry about a password. however if it has a password, then you need to make sure that you type that password in (case sensitive). I had the same problem and this worked for me. hope this helps...please rate if it does....thanks. also, you shouldn't have to do anything with your laptop at all. try to use a direct line from your modem if you are using an ethernet cord.

Ive got verizon wireless broadband for my lap top and cant seem to be able to get online with ps3

Can you provide more information?  The Verizon Wireless broadband access is for your laptop only.  In order for the PS3 to take advantage of it, you'll have to setup Internet Connection Sharing on your laptop. That way your PS3 can connect to your laptop via your laptop's wireless connection (in Ad Hoc mode since you don't have a wifi network) and access the internet via the VzW Broadband Access.

Ive got a 40gb ps3 and a bt home hub wireless router how do i connect ps3 to computer ps ps3 is upstairs and pc downstairs

look on the back of your home hub. there should be a Wireless Key in a Grey box. (BT Home Hub wireless settings)

note the wireless key.

go to your ps3. and turn it on log on ect. go to settings and down to network settings (right at bottom).

(Im not sure of the next section because im currently on a network but it should be an option to find network).

anyway you search for networks. should find your home hub.

keep going right untill you have to enter any settings. and write your WEP Key (Not WKA). (wireless key from back of router).
