Question about Canon IXUS 960 IS Digital Camera

1 Answer

Hi! My name is Andrew. I have a Ixus 960 IS camera with a 4 gb Sandisc 2 memory card. I am overseas at the moment on holiday. When I got back to my friends apartment we put my card into her computer and downloaded the images. When I replaced the card in the camera and switched it on 28 of the images had been replaced by a ? with incompatible JPEG. I have an Apple laptop computer at home and have downloaded images many times with the link cable provided with the camera without this problem. Does it have something to do with inserting my card directly into a computer. This is the first time I have done this. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

If you removed the card without using the "safely remove hardware" function and the PC was still accessing data on the card, it will corrupt the card.

How can I find a memory card today for my Digimax S600 camera? Sandisc 4 and 16 Gigabyte do not Work

You need to use SD cards, 2GB or smaller. The S600 does not work with higher capacity SDHC/SDXC cards.

SD cards are getting a bit harder to find, but they should still be available at most department, electronics, or office-supply stores. And, of course, the usual online sources.

4 gb memory card placed into camera. Camera says card error. Why?

The SD630 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in SD devices.

You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Any internal backup memory??

The internal memory only works when no card is in the camera and then only holds a small number of pics. If you had the memory card in the camera most of the time, most of your pics were on the card.

I have an issue with my cannon camera. I just came from holidays and took over 500 photos on my ''Canon IXUS 960''. When i connected it to my pc to see all my pictures but i got an error message saying...

you should try some photo recovery software, here are some programs you may rely on. Both programs can also recover videos and music.

Photo Recovery Software (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)

Note: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camera memory card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

Sandisc 4 GB memory stick PRO Duo not working

According to the users manual, the camera does not support above 512 MB cards, however I noticed that there is a firmware update which might address the issue. Go to www.sony.com and support, electronics. Put your model number in the selection box and you'll be taken to the drivers download page.

CANON DIGITAL IXUS 40 CAMERA

Most likely it is not compatable. The SDHC cards are a very different animal to the regular type of cards (which most cards up to 2 GB are). I wouldn't open the package until you are absolutely sure. All info I've found on your camera indicates up to 2 GB (non SDHC only) maximum.
