can you see any any menus or the volume bar or channel indicator?
Make sure all your audio and video cables are hooked up correctly to inputs on the TV and to the same set of hookups. For example all of the VCR cables hooked into video 1 and all of the DVD cables in video 2.
Also check that you haven't hooked up the video to the tv's output. Some sets output audio and/or video for external devices such as recording setups or home theater sound systems.
You have lost the input signal...you will have to go to Setup/Net Command and set your input to the one with signal (either a TV input or a Component input). If it is reset...the input likely switched to a non-usable input
Give this a try. Using your user's manual, locate the "Configuring your recorder" section. Under this section there will be "System setup - general" subsection. Being that you are unable to see anything on your tv display you will need to use your manual as your display. Press the "SETUP" key on your remote. Once again using your manual as your display, scroll down to "Restore factory settings" and press "ENTER" As long as you are located in North or Central America and using interlaced video outputs you should have your normal display back.
Hope this helps.
It sounds like the video signal is being routed to a different out put. Search the menu for "Source" kinds of settings. Often you will have Vid 1 and 2 and maybe HDMI 1 &2 etc. Try what looks right and keep trying all combinations (usually less than 6). Take your time, it often takes them numerous seconds to recognize the signal. The fact you see the settings means the Video is working if it just had the signal. Also, if there is any wiring involved, check the cables and maybe swap them for known good ones if possible.
