Hp1100, an A4 format page in pdf is being printed on two pages. does anyone know whats causing this, reagrds

In the printer properties select "Fit to Page" and this will ensure that it will print it all in one page. The reason it is printing two pages, is that when the document was made, they didn't finalise it properly and/or some of the document was over the page, sometimes a Font change, is all that may cause it. So as related always select, fit to page, or often there is a print Percentage size, so you can fit it all in. Either that or edit the document and rid, the second page, by making the font smaller, different type face, take out spaces, whatever is required to rid, any second page then save as an A4. Then you wouldn't have to use the % print, or fit to page.

Blinking red light, unable to turn off or print

From the looks of your printer. I'd say that one of your ink has a problem. The part where you put the cartridge in, is where your problem lies. YOu'll prob need to get it checked out by an HP dealer.

try changing the ink cartridge and see if that helps.

Problem of my printer photosmart d5160

I have the exact same printer. Struggled for hours with it, until I learned it's ways. If you have good cartridges in and purge your print buffer from your computer, then 'gently but firmly' slam the top cover.
I don't see sensors, etc that detect it being up, but I just closed mine, had ! blinking, etc. Then gently 'slammed' the top cover and it reset and worked great.

I need to change printing pages from last to first page first

the last printed page is always on top. For a long document, it takes a while to resort and place the first page first! This is how you can get Microsoft Word to reverse the print order and save all the trouble.
I have spent so much time resorting documents after printing. On my printer, the last page printed is always on top. By printing the last page first (reverse order), the document is already correctly sorted.
Here is how to do it:
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Open the document to be printed
3. Click the Tools menu
4. Select Options
5. Click the Print tab
6. Check the Reverse Print Order option
7. Select OK
Now, all your documents will prevent in reverse order. What a lifesaver!!!

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Blank page

I would take look at printer settings to see if this is an optional feature; some printers I've had offered to insert a 'separator sheet' which sounds a lot like your 'problem.'

Open the Control Panel, find and open (whatever your Win version has named it) the printer function, find the D5160 (there might be others listed), right-click on it, select Properties from the menu and go through the tabs to see if you find functions listed that might affect your wasted sheet problem.

If you find nothing there, I suggest you check to see if there is a more current driver you can install.
If not, UNinstall the current driver, shut down your system leaving the printer on, turn your system back on which should force Windows to reinstall the existing driver.

That unwanted form feed you are getting only requires a couple of bits sent to the printer to activate.
