Ps3 system update error 8002F310

1. Download the update onto a USB stick using your pc. (Hopefully you have one). Create a new folder named UPDATE and drag the file into it. Then create a folder called PS3 and drag the 'UPDATE' folder into that. Note the folders must be in capitals.....
2. Underneath your console is a small panel near the front that pops open to reveal a small screw. Unscrew it and then remove a bigger panel on the actually front of the console to reveal the hard drive. It has a wire handle that will help you remove the hard drive. (Don't take it out yet)
3. Turn your console on and when the update loop begins take the hard drive out. After a minute or so it will realise this has happened and a error message will appear and a 60 second countdown will start. Let this time countdown and allow the console to restart. ( a post a read on a forum said that the console will restart on a screen that will allow you to download the update via USB but is did not happen for me and the system said it was unable to start because it could not detect a hard drive.)
4. Turn the console totally off and insert the hard drive. Turn it back on and as it is beginning to start carefully take the hard drive back out. Then a screen will hopefully appear that says to connect your controller to the USB wire and press the ps button. Do this and then it will give you the option to update via USB. Insert your USB drive and press start and select on your controller.
5. Then comes a step that I can't really explain and is the trial and error part of the process. When the system is searching for the USB update I inserted the hard drive. On the first try it didn't find the update and a error message appeared, but as I tried the whole process again it found the update and completely the process. I didn't lose any saves and more importantly, didn't pay a penny!!

I updated my ps3 to firmware 4.60 it downloaded but its not installing it gives me an error. The code i get is 800f0a7. Please help me...

It sounds to me like a disk error. Like out of space error. Try making sure you have enough space on your hard drive to install the new update.

Everytime I turn on the ps3 it start installing an update it stop and display error 8002F14E and my system is fresh out of the box 2-8-2011

Open the side of your PS3 where your HDD is. Take the screw out, but leave the HDD in.

When the update begins, pull your HDD out of the slot. It will tell you an error occured and it tells you to restart your system and try again.
Instead, let the count from 60 run out, your screen will go blank for about 30 seconds then it will start back up and tell you that your Hard Drive needs to be reformatted.
REPLACE YOUR HDD into PS3 - (make sure your controller is PLUGGED IN) and press the white PS3 button on the controller.
It will then ask you to either press start and select at same time OR white PS3 Button - PRESS START and SELECT. Do not agree to user agreements!! Simply hit cancel and it will kick back to the PS3 start up screen.
Then try to figure out if you have a bad blu ray or bad blue cable before you update again

Dear, before you get in touch with Sony technical support you may want to try to use the PS3 recovery options. The PS3 stores a copy of firmware drivers on the hard-drive and will reload any corrupt files. To access the recovery menu, do this: Make sure the PS3 is turned off Press and hold the power button on the PS3 it will power on then power off. When it's off press and hold the power button again until you hear two consecutive beeps. When you hear the double beeps immediately take your finger off the power button (if your system turns off before you get a double beep just try again and hold the button, it should double beep the 2nd time you try) It will ask for the controller to be connected via the USB cable, Turn on the controller and you will have access to the menu. Be aware that you may lose all of your previously saved data (NOT trophies, they're stored online so don't worry).

I get error code 8002f1c0 on my ps3 at 69 percent of installing an update

Quite a few PS3 Owners have got this error while updating their PS3 Firmware

I hope you did not accidentally switch off your PS3 while the upgrade was running.

When you encounter this error while doing the firmware upgrade, you can check removing the Power Cord from the console, it needs to be unplugged for a few minutes (these systems store data when plugged in, and sometimes the data can be faulty). Unplugging it purges the faulty data from the system.

Re-Plug the console and connect it online again and check if the upload progresses or not.

The Second method of installing the upgrade is downloading the update from playstation website, and put it in a pendrive follwing the instructions. Then turn on your PS3 with the pen drive connected to one of the usb doors and let the installation process begin.

If the above two methods are not of any help, please DO NOT power reset your machine frequently as you may damage the PS3 totally.

Call up Sony Customer Support as last resort and send it for repairs if needed.

Good Luck, Wishing you happy Holidays and Happy Gaming

PS3 Update successful,install failed,systemrebooted,error8002F14E

On the playstation 3 site error code tool says this code is an issue updating the PS3 sytem software. Try to start with the hard drive uninstalled then try again installed. If that dont help i would format the hard drive in a laptop and see if it helps. worst casr scenario you could dissasemble the PS3 and unplug tha battery on the main board and see if that helps. Good Luck

Error 80022d11 on ps3 how to fix won't let me play game cause it can't find the trophies!!

This error only happens with games that collect trophies. Sony released a fix for this very problem in a firmware update V2.6 earlier this year.

The latest firmware is now V3.10 and hopefully this will resolve the issue for you.The easiest method is to download the update right on your PlayStation 3.

In the Settings menu, right at the top, is System Update. Select this and when asked tell it to Update Via Internet. It will then check for any updates. If it finds one the download will begin. The average size of these updates will be in the range of 100 MB so it may be an idea to do something else for a few minutes while it downloads.

Once the download is finished it will ask you to hit X on the controller to start the install. The system will restart and ask you to connect the controller with the USB cable and hit the PS button. The screen that shows up should say Firmware Update with the version number and at the bottom you will see X to start the install. Hit X and you see a software agreement- hit right on the D-Pad until you get to "agree or do not agree". Select agree to start the install. Again, this will take a few minutes. When it is done you will hit X to restart the system. A quick reboot and you are done.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

PS3 update problems

Ok, no matter how you try to install the firmware it will always write it to the hard drive first before install. Now if it gives you the 800 error while downloading it's your hard drive and it may need to be re-formatted or replaced. If you get an error during installation, then therewas a misplaced piece of code during the download and it needs to be downloaded again.

BTW, the power button default reset is ONLY for the Video output settings.

Hope this helps. Good luck and happy gaming!!
