Question about Belling FarmHouse 932 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

I have one of the above cookers and the ignition seems to be sticking in the grill only i.e. it repetitively sparks when the mains switch is on. Also there is no gas feed to either oven when they are switched on. Otherwise everything works fine. Is this some kind of a safety feature? Do I need to change the ignition unit?

It turns out the timer is stuck on auto and this is why the ovens don't work. The timer part is obsolete now according to Belling.

Is the timer fixable? Are there other timers that will work? I am not too happy about the prospect of throwing out a range cooker just because a timer is stuck!

    Any help much appreciated

OK I somehow (luckily) managed to get the timer back onto manual without having to take it apart and the ovens now come on however, as per the original problem, the ignition is still constantly sparking in the grill and the ovens.

When an oven is lit the ignition still sparks. If I switch off the mains electricity switch to stop the constant sparking the flames die out in the oven....?!

Any idea what's going on here and how I stop the continuous spark?

You could take it to an electronics store and see if they could rig up a part to fix this. I could help you find some places if you want. But if the company says the part is obsolete then, there is only a small chance that someone, somewhere would have one. Let me know what you think and I would be happy to help you further.

If the igniter does not shut off, then I would suspect there's a short
in the switch causing it to stay on. With this being said, I would venture to say that
the gas valve regulator switch would be a likely source of some of the
problems you are having, and might be worth the effort to replace.

If you check it and see it that it will not work fine even try repairing it, much better to replace it.. & also please the burner for some dirt that makes the gas not flowing normally..

Thank you, & post back again for any further assistance..

there's possibly you can find parts that will work to the oven, but i think the fitting to the oven cabinet will be the issue..

I have an old belling farmhouse cooker the hob works fine but the oven isn't igniting manually or by the electric ignition The timer is manual and is stuck on the red patch I can't seem to shift it ...

Take the tiny screws of there are loads down right hand side then release screws on hob once you can lift hob plates up. Undo the covers on back of timer clock control . Make sure you un plug from mains . Take the neutral of back of timer clock. This will allow your oven to auto ignite again

The ignigter in the oven keeps clicking all the time the oven is on ? the model is 911

The clicking is not in the oven. You have a bad surface burner switch. Open the front control panel to access the surface switch. Remove one wire at a time for each surface igniter. They are located on each burner valve stem. When the clicking stops, that will be the bad switch. Replace it.

Cooker problem

If it has a timer, make sure it is set to manual or it will not heat, another possibility is a faulty thermostat, you need to find out if you are getting power to the element, if you are then element should work unless you have got a faulty one.
