Question about Dell E172FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

1 Answer

Gone from blinkid led to lights out.

Hi,

I did do the C5707 transistor change, and I went from blinking LED to lights out after 2-3 sec.
It starts fine, but backlight disappear after 2-3 sec, I can see the contour of the moving self test picture.

To be honest, I only had 2 spare C5707 so it might be so that I have to replace the other pare as well, but they where not short circuited like, one of the transistors in the other pare.

Regards,
Freddie

I have the same problem, it doesn't make sense why you would get a picture for 2 seconds and then go out. Let me know if you find anything out.

You really need to replace all 4 and also the 2 FU9024 chips and examine all the solder in the inverter area. Also if you have the 2 lamp connector board with a chungwa LCD panel them your lower lamp is probably also bad. Check out www.lcdrepair.us for instructional videos on Dell models as well as repair kits and boards for that unit.

My monitor is on but the backlight is off. When you swicht the monitor at first, the lights come and go. I did check the inverter side and i fund out that pair of the driver transistors were dead. I did...

When you replace the transistors you should change all 4 of the C5707 transistors. You also need to resolder all of the connections to the 4 output transformers and the 4 output plug connections. If you did not resolder the these additional connections then the new transistors you install are more the likely dead now. The solder joints can crack because of the current and this causes the circuit to pull more amps than the transistors can handle. The new ones will blow within 2-3 seconds if you did not resolder the other connections.

Dell E173fp monitor went black and green LED light on power button is blinking. It will not reset.

hughiii, Read page 16 of my fixya profile. There is a response to another E173FP you should read and then do more reading about other brands of monitors with same symptom. Will you be doing the tear-down and inspecting the power supply? After you have done the research (reading) and seen some videos on YOUTUBE, get back here on fixya and let us know what you have decided to do. 12fixlouie

Dell monitor e17s fbp.. wont turn on

Flashing power LED light means you may have shorted (Emitter to Collector) out transistors (c5707) or bad fuse (fuse has high resistance) PF751. Those are what you need to check. see pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Dell%20E173FPb/

look at the 3 amp. fuse on the mainboard! By the way, you can buy very cheap USB light, wich are working with a small lighttube. Use the transistors of their generator!

The monitor is a E173FPb - which transistors are we talking about ?

Those are the ones, you are going to have to remove them to test as they are across a transformer

LED's blinking, no video

Your C5707 transistors in the monitor have failed. Suggest replacing all four with the Sanyo C5707 transistor. A common problem.
