Marie, For every camera that someone wants to connect to a computer, there has to be installed a program on the computer. The program came with the camera on the CD. Perhaps you thought only the manual was on the CD, but no.
If you already dumped the CD, just goto the Kodak website, register your camera and ask for the easy share software. you can download it for free. Because it will only work with a Kodak camera.
Always first install the software, then connect the camera.
Once the software is on the computer, the program is self explaining. It even starts up (should start up) as soon as the camera is connected via the USB cable.
You should have received the cd with the camera. Where did you buy it? You can download a copy of the manual and even the software from the Samsung website. You might want to consider downloading your pictures using a separate card reader. That's what the pros do....it's faster, you don't need any special software, and it's trouble-free.
the manual isn't in the downloaded portion of the CD. Load the CD and click on the "owner's manual" button at the top of the first page and you should get a PDF of the manual directly from there.
These should be available on the internet from the manufacturer's website. I noticed that some manuals, or user guides, are available here on FixYa, if you look for the specifc camera brand and model rather than just making a generic post.
