Nettiser, you are right on the money. This is essentially what my TV Repairman said yesterday. He will replace all circuit boards (part(s) $175) and $150 for labor; guaranteeing several more years of service. He also added that this is a very good tv and will outlast the newer models for sure. Says he has many '08, 09' and 10' models to repair. Again, thanks for your expertise!

Fail safe circuit is indicating a voltage variance either in the power supply or on the sustain boards. It does this to preserve unaffected components. It needs investigation and repair. It also pays not to continue trying to get it to work as it could combust.

P{lease rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

I have a Mitsubishi WD 60738 and the stand by light on the front of the tv was staying on and was orange. I removed the power supply and blew out all the dust and reinstalled the power supply and now the...

Hello Jeff;
If the TV does not turn on or off, does not respond to the remote
control or the control panel buttons, or has audio but no video:
1.) Press and hold the POWER button on the control panel for ten seconds. The TV will turn off.
2.) Power on the TV and the green LED will flash quickly for about one minute. The changes you made most recently, before using SYSTEM RESET, may be lost.

If the TV does not respond to the remote control or to the control-panel buttons and TV will not power on or off.
• Unplug the AC power cord for 10 seconds.
• Press and hold the POWER button on the control panel for 10
seconds to perform a system reset.

If the TV turned itself off and the light on the front panel started to flash:
• Momentary power fluctuation can cause the TV to turn off to prevent damage. Wait for the green light to stop flashing and turn the TV on again.
• If the TV does not stay on, press the POWER button on the
control panel for ten seconds to perform a System Reset. If this happens frequently, obtain an AC line power conditioner/surge protector.
• An unusual digital signal may have been received, triggering a
protection circuit. Wait for the light to stop flashing and turn TV
on.

If the TV will not power off, press the POWER button on the control panel for ten seconds to perform a System Reset.

Should you still have problems, call for assistance at 1(800) 332-2119

I would not recommend using compressed air or any other method that would blow dust around- since the dust could make its way into the set's circuitry via the grille or vents and cause problems. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment instead.

Tv says receiver is not on and do not respond to remote control

Hi Jackiewes928, I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. It is my pleasure to assist you today. I understand that the only channel you are currently getting is channel 116 and that your remote is not responding. Do any buttons at the top light up on the remote when you try to change channels? If so, what button lights up in red or green? if any button other the SAT button lights up this means that the remote is not on SAT mode and this would be why is not responding. In order to put the remote in SAT mode press the SAT button for 3 seconds. Once you do this try using the remote. If you need further assistance please feel free to reach me directly at kimberly.escobar@dish.com
