SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Logo

How do i erase all on a sandisk memory card so i can use as a back up again. I am trying to make a new recover disk. It is low on space and so when it starts the save process, it gets partly done and then stops and tells me to put a new one in. I have sent all I could see to trash bin and then emptied the bin. It shows 7.47 gb free but will not save. I have Windows 7.

Try cleaning the temporary internet files in your system. You can view the files by typing %TEMP% in the run window. Delete all the files in that folder. I dont know whether you are suffering with shortage of space in your HDD or in pen drive. For pen drive, go for a complete format rather than quick format. This will give some additional space by clearing the pen drive completely. For HDD, Try disc cleanup. You can do that by right clicking on that particular drive letter and in the general tab, you will see something called disc cleanup which will cleanup all the cookies and temporary files and unwanted files to give some additional space to that drive.

I need to recover a video i deleted less than a month ago.

You can often successfully recover deleted files from a PC, phone or camera memory card or USB Memory stick, it just depends on what's happened since the files were deleted.
When you delete files the data itself isn't deleted, just the index entry that says where the data for those files is located. The space containing the deleted files is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it becomes too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.
If the deleted files are on a memory card or USB memory stick, just don't save any new files to it.

One of the best ways to see if you can recover deleted files is to try some file recovery software. Recommended asoftech data recovery as it saved my life many times. download from

Sd memory card says card can not be read why?

you can try formatting the disk. otherwise, it may be erased or damaged.

this same thing happened to me with my sandisk 8gb micro sd in my phone.

I lost everything on the disk, it never worked again , and still not sure how it happened?

maybe they zap em from satellite to make us buy new ones? LOL who knows.

more than likely if it cannot be formatted and cannot be read it's done.

p.s. did you check to see if the disk is locked?
