Question about HP Pavilion dv2000t Notebook

1 Answer

My built-in WLAN thing.

I have an HP laptop since mid-fall of 2007. My computer cones with the built in internet receiver. Maybe a month ago, my internal internet receiver stopped working. At first I though it was something wrong with a program so i did, the restart thing where your computer is completly wiped and everything is restored as if you just pulled it from the box. Even after this, my internet feature does not work. Since i got to this site/page, from the BestBuy website,I was wondering, what possible options i have left, if any, and if i had to bring it into BestBuy and have the geek squad people look, and possible fix my internal internet receiver, how much $$$ would everything entail? thanks for all your help.

Screen goes blank when watching videos streamed from the internet

Sounds like your WLAN card this type of problem is common in HP and Dell. Try inserting a wireless USB card and intall the drivers for it. Disable your WLAN built in card by going to network connectins right click on the connection and choose disable. Run the USB card when streaming video from the internet. If the problem is corrected then the issue is for certain your WLAN card. @ that point replacing the WLAN card is optional. The USB card has better range anyway.

Hope this helps and please don't forgetr to rate. Have a great day!

Where is the wireless button on my HP6910P laptop or the function key(s) to enable wireless

hi

review this information about your system.
wireless is an option -- you may not have it on your computer

Wireless use requires separately purchased service contract. Check with service provider for availability and coverage in your area. Available in select countries only. 5. The specifications for the 802.11n WLAN are draft specifications and are not final. If the final specifications differ from the draft specifications, it may affect the ability of the notebook to communicate with other 802.11n WLAN devices. 6. Wireless access point required and is not included. Availability of public wireless access points limited. Wireless Internet use requires separately purchased Internet service contract

The NVIDIA GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), located at U20, sharing the heatpipe heatsink with the main processor, has an issue with the reflow soldering to the motherboard.
If you can find a good PC board shop that mounts BGAs (Ball Grid Array parts, have them resolder the part to the motherboard.
Quanta Computers, of Taiwan, built the boards originally. (http://www.quantatw.com/Quanta/english/service/serviceinfo.aspx) They sell new MBs for $400. If you can get the NVIDIA part reflowed, it will probably cost less and work better.
The heat of operation causes the part to lift from the motherboard, causing separation of the solder joints, and intermittancy, or a complete failure with increased temperature - these parts are designed to run pretty hot.
Good luck.

Maybe there is a button on the laptop? If there isn't one, press
Windows + x. You should get a menu. Maybe you can switch it on there. If that won't work, try to reïnstall the drivers. The last thing you can do: Send your laptop to HP for repairs.

Good luck! :)

My laptop, which was only purchased 3 months ago will not allow me to do anything in word Which is micro soft office 2007

I have a strong suspicion that your Office 2007 is a trial version that came with your computer, and your 90 day free trial is up.

Did you purchase the Office 2007 separately, or was it in your laptop as part of its bundled software?

Most new computers come with bundled TRIAL software such as MSOffice, and many others that only have a 90 day time limit before you have to purchase the software.

Please let me know if this helps.

Wireless internet issue

be sure to check the big three.

ip address. go into command prompt and type "ipconfig/reset"

then "ipconfig/renew"

then retry.

thats the main one.

then check your windows firewall settings. see if your browser is blocked.

the last one could be the router has to be reset. this one happend to me on a daily bassis with this same laptop. you can unplug and plug it then redo the connections.

In your laptop, when you plug the lan cable,
the led should blink.
if not blinking, you should check the router.
