Question about Computers & Internet
Assuming your Acer Laptop came with a CD or DVD marked Recovery
During start up look for a message near bottom of screen shows e.g. F2 or Del for BIOS. tap the F2 or Del key it needs. this takes you into the BIOS - do nothing in here, except the following...
Press Right cursor key till you to go right to BOOT section. At the top of this screen find Boot Options or Order. Press the Enter key. In the new page, cursor down to CD/DVD row and hi-lite it... (Space bar?) The HELP info is to the right of this (and all) screen(s)
MOVE the CD/DVD row to the top (F5/F6 keys?) see the HELP on right press the Esc key to go back to the BOOT section.
Put the CD/DVD in the drive - Hit F10 key and then Y or Enter - to restart computer.
During start up, If asked, tap any key to boot from CD... (Enter is a good choice)
Follow on screen instructions to re-install/restore complete system. This will wipe the C:\ drive and set up the computer just as it was before first use.
IF someone made a D:\ Drive - Either Format the D:\ drive (Right click D:\ drive in My Computer, go to properties then Tools, then choose Format - quick format - OK if any warning about deleting files - because this IS what you want) - IF afraid of 'Format' - just select any folders in the D:\ drive and delete them...
Voila - a pristine - untouched computer waiting to be used.
Total time about 1 hour - make sure it is PLUGGED IN during all this.
