SOURCE: Oven takes a very long time to heat.

Do your burners work ok when the oven is on? if not you may have low supply pressure to your range or the regulator may be limiting the gas flow. Also, I have a wolf gas range and it takes 30 minutes to heat to 350 as well, haven't timed it to 400. Has it always taken that long? Another thing to check is the door seal. If its not sealing it could cause a long preheat. If the door seal is smashed flat and/or not soft it needs replaced. Hope this helps.

Gas oven takes 30 mins or more to to preheat

Open the bottom and have a look at the burner while its heating. The flame should be strong blue/white and both sides the same, if they are not you have some blocked holes in the burner. Remove the burner and clean out the holes (carefully, don\'t ream them out, use a small paperclip to clean them, be gentle.). Above all do NOT use any kind of oven cleaner on them, if they are aluminum, and most are the oven cleaner will destry it.

Does a combination microwave use less electricity than a standard conventional fan oven?

A combo microwave would probably have at least 4 functions: simple microwave, a combination of microwave and convection, grill and convection. Convection is what your standard cooker already does. In fact, there isn't much point in buying a microwave oven that does any less. I have found that the microwave uses less electricity because it heats up more quickly and the capacity of the microwave oven is smaller.I have found microwave cooking much cheaper and faster. Oven mode is not the same as the microwave mode. microwave will take take 10 to 15 mins while the same thing will take 30 to 45 mins in oven. Here you will get more information about cheap electricity.

Oven is taking to long to heat

look for the temperature sensor inside the oven cavity in the upper left or top center of the upper oven cavity, its will be a silver or copper colored rod about 1/4" by 2" to 6" long this rod senses the oven temp and cycles the heat to the oven

New microwave 1.1 cubic runs fine - meaning lights up; runs the cycle, e.g. 2 min, but does not heat

Microwaves usually have a 30 day return. You should take it back and exchange it, if you try to work on it that will void the warranty.
