The battery settings seem fine to me: there isn't any sleep function or functions that seem out of hand. I happen to be outside Acer's warranty of one year.

It sounds like your computer's battery settings are messed up. First, check your battery settings. Perhaps they are somehow set to put your computer to sleep when battery power comes on. If that's not the problem, go to device manager, open batteries, and look at the properies of everything there to be sure all is working. If nothing appears wrong, update or replace the drivers from your manufacurer's website if available there. It looks like you have an Acer--I know thatthey have some battery recalls out. Let me know how it goes. If you are in warranty, get help from Acer: Acer's basic service availability period, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CST), Monday through Friday. Acer Customer Service at (800) 816-2237. If you get someone who says to reintall everything instead of addressing your problem itself, demand to speak to a supervisor (this happened to me) who knows what's what.

BTW, Computer companies like to sell you expensive batteries. You must always remove your battery while you are plugged in, or you will greatly reduce its lifetime of about 300 or so full charges. Also, to break a new battery in properly, so thatit will take a full charge, charge it for at least 15 hours, then let it completely drain and recharge 3 times. (that's in your Acer manual.) let me know what happens.

Try system restore back to a time when your battery charged properly (I assume that all was well until you went out of warranty). If that doesn't fix it, go to control panel, then click systems, then device manager, then open batteries, and click on "general" to see if it says it is working properly. Same with microsoft AC adaptor. If both say they are working properly, first click on the driver for microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery, then uninstall it, then reboot your computer. The driver will automatically reinstall from your installation software in the hidden partition; if the old driver was corrupted, it will then be fixed. it may take several minutes--wait for a notice that the installation has completed. Then check to see if your battery now charges in your computer. If not, I'd try the same thing with the microsoft AC adaptor driver. Let me know what happens.

I forgot to mention that even out of warranty, go to Acer and see what upgrades they claim
to have for your model--particularly e-power management. (Be
carefull--some which they say are for Vista are for XP, and vice
versa.) If there is one, give it a try.

I SOLVE THIS ISSUE 100% WORKING
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS ON THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE BATTERY WIRES AND LAPTOP
IF YOU MOVE THE BATTERY IT WILL WORK SO SURE THE PROBLEM WITH THE LINK BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND THE LAPTOP
SOLUTION : TO MOVE THE IRON OUT OF THE LAPTOP TO THE RIGHT TILT THEM TO RIGHT SIDE A LITTLE BECAUSE THE BATTERY WIRES IS TO THE RIGHT SIDE (WATCH THEM) NOT IN THE MIDDLE AND AFTER THAT PUT A STICK ON THE BATTERY TIGHTED IN ITS PLACE SO IT WILL NOT MOVE ITS NOT FREEZING NOW THANKS

Toshiba M55-S139 Laptop randomly freezes without warning.

you have a diry fan try cleaning the fan motor and spray a slight amount of wd 40 on the cooling fan and it should take care of your problem, if not go buy a usb driven laptop fan and try that, it is heating up and is the fan for the cpu or the memory stick getting hot. the fan costs 15 dollars so it's worth it to make the computer work and it will keep it cooler anyway.

Fozen curser - worked yesterday- today switch on curser froze, problem switching computer off. tryed turn on and off still same. taken battery off , it now working not sure if related

The cursor freezes when the system is freezing up for some reason ..and the action was a good one ..The idea is when the system is stuck ..it probably either didn't found a file and will stay that way ..or the actions selected was beyond its resources..or so ..
main action is to turn it off by cutting all power/..this way it is similar with a soft reset and if the operation system is not damaged will boot again in normal way ..(if it shows multiple choises ...select to boot to the last known configuration that worked..and press enter ..

Panasonic CF-30: While plugged into a/c the

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

For me, it looks like the Canon LiDE 100 USB powered flat scanner was drawing extra power than your laptop's power adapter could handle properly. As time passes, this might have caused some damage to either the system, the A/C adapter or both. Rightnow, your laptop's adapter's output might be no longer capable of supplying enough power to charge the battery & operate the laptop simultaneously. Please try a replacement adapter & check if it resolves your problem.

Dell Laptop Won't Boot Up

Don't take this as a definate answer, as I am only going on from what I've seen close friends do though I don't remove my Battery from my Laptop even though.
I do have some Electronic sexperience though very limited so my answer is You don't need a battery for a Laptop to boot and it doesn't matter if it doesn't hold a charge anymore,

Your problem I suspect is something else, meaning without proper (enough) input regarding what the Laptop does and or doesn't do, eg. starts the P.O.S.T then stops, 3 beeps or 1 , possibly none. Can you get into the BIOS setup? Maybe Windows starts loading and stops somewhere in the boot process.

If you need anymore assisatnce then feel free to ask.

Freezing up

I think you need to do a power cycle. remove the battery and use tha AC adapter alone. If it boots, then thats good. U can try also booting on safe mode by pressing F8. Then re start the notebook in normal mode. If it wont works then i think u need to reinstall windows as a last resort. U need to use TOSHIBA RECOVERY DISK this time.
