Hello, I would recommend you upgrade your powersupply, memory, motherboard and cpu.

This is a cheap configuration good for basic computer use, vista ready. If you want gameing you will need better parts to play the newest hits.

As the motherboard, clearly not for playing games. I would recommend:
ASUS P5S-MX

As for the CPU I would recommend this model witch works with the motherboard I have selected:
Core Duo 2 E4500 2.2GHz, 2MB, FSB800 Boxed (boxed means it comes with a heatsink+fan)

As for the memory I would recommend the cheapest 800MHZ DDR 2 you can find, heres what I found

1GT DDR2 800MHz, Vitesta, 240-pin DIMM
Buffalo also samsung have these for cheap prices.

I would take two of those. for the motherboard.

You might not need to replace your powersupply, but a adapter from 20 pin to 24 pin would be required.

You can buy a cheap 350W or better Powersupply with 24pin connector.

Ask advice from your dealer also, and buy from a real computer shop instead of the wallmart for example.

this configuration with a 350W powersupply would cost 220€ here where I live.

thats 343 usd.

also if the parts dont fit into your case, but they should, then you need to buy a new case, get a cheap 20e model thats 31usd.

But as I dont live where you live the prices can be difrent.

Hi,

DDR 333 memory is DDR PC2700, I believe. It might be hard to find a new MB that will work with that. You'll probably have to buy new memory. You'll also need a new CPU fan, unless you know the Socket type of your existing MB. But you should replace the fan anyway on a new CPU/MB install. You should buy as much memory as you can afford.

Try looking HERE and see if anything is in your price range.

Hope that helps...

What computer models was this MB used in?

This MB is used mostly in Pentium 4 (P4) PC model.
however, I don't know which particular brand. My PC is an IBM P4 2.4GB. Since the original MB got busted, it was replaced with ASUS P4S800-MX., and it works just
fine.

PC wont boot, not even to bios

Maybe the mobo is shot for u and he has his PSU shot.......Check for any burnt smells from the mobo. See if the cable from the PSU is properly connected to the mobo. Try removing all drives like graphics cards, RAMS one by one and see if it works.

Asus p4s800-mx

The problem is most likely bad capacitors. The may have used a bad batch, with many people having such issues. I understand it is difficult to get several of the caps out without ruining the board completely, so it may not be worth the time and effort it would take to replace them.
