The machine locks up with the needle in the bobbin case and cannot raise the needle with the hand wheel.

Could be some threads or gunk buildup in the bobbin area. Also, could be a needle/hook timing issue. If cleaning it thoroughly does not improve the situation, you may need to take it for service.

My New Home skips stitches. I have cleaned it, changed needles, adjusted the tension and tried different bobbins .

Skipped stitches

1. The needle is not inserted correctly

Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)

2. The needle is damaged

replace with new needle

3. The wrong size needle is being used

Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric

4. The foot not attached correctly

Check & attach correctly

it's also possible that the machine could be slightly out of time

Sewing machine will not stitch. The thread goes into the material but does not make a stitch. I've changed the needle, cleaned the bobbin, rethread the bobbin and the top thread.??????????????

Is this the first time you have used the machine? If so you need to bring up the bobbin thread by hand before stitching. Only when both bobbin and top threads are up through the needle plate nad pulled towards the back of machine, will the machine form a stitch.

Sews small stitches on the top and loose stitches underneath from the bobbin.

change needle
change your stitch length dial to a number higher like if it on 3 change it to 4 or 5
change the tension to 3 or 4
clean under the needle plate where the feed dog is for lint
clean the bobbin area for lint or loose threads
rethread the machine

Makes too much noise

Check that your needle is fully up into the needle housing, and is in flat shank to the back.

Also change the needle if it has been in the machine for more than 6 hours of sewing as the needle will go blunt and this can make squeaking or popping sounds as you stitch.

Lastly, are you sure that the bobbin case is in correctly and hasn't been put in incorrectly. It should have a stitch finger which locks up into the top of the rotary hook if its a vertical bobbin case and bobbin design which I'm pretty sure your machine is.

I have the basically the same problem. i was sewing and now the thread in the needle will not pick up the bobbin thread. i would appreciate any help. I have changed the needle, bobbin, and thread several...

Check the easy stuff first:
Make sure the needle is inserted in the machine properly- a good rule of thumb is the flat side of the needle should go to the opposite side of the last thread guide. Also make sure the machine is threaded correctly.

the needle is in correctly with the flat side to the rear of the machine, make sure to thread the upper and lower portions of the machine correctly.

the needle is in the machine correctly- all the way up into the needle bar, make sure that it is threaded correctly, etc. If this all checks out ok, take the bobbin case out of the machine. There are two ears on either side of the bobbin case- turn the left one to the left and the right one to the right. Remove the silver ring, and inspect the piece of metal that the ring came off of (looks like a circle with the top cut off). You have to locate the hook which is the piece that looks like a half moon inside the big round metal piece. Locate the tip of it, turn the handwheel toward you until the needle is in the lowest position, at this point the tip of the hook should be flush with top of the left side of the cut off circle. If this is not so, your machine needs to be re-timed. If that is the case.
